he 1983 Miss Florida USA took place in July of 1982 originating from Parker Playhouse. The pageant returned to television as The Broward County Tourism Initiative hosted the delegates and sponsored the television broadcast. The ninety (90) minute live broadcast began the run of broadcasts around the state and around the world that would continue until 2016 under the direction of The Gravitt family and Tel-Air. This was the year we began syndicated the show worldwide as we would eventually be shown in over 80 countries at our peak. It’s been show much fun sharing our hard work and memories of when Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA ruled the Pageant World! Hosted by Virgina television and radio personality Dick Lamb the pageant was won by Janett Chesor of Daytona Beach who won the title and represented the Sunshine State at Miss USA. You can tell we had humble beginnings but eventually we heightened the pageant experience in The Sunshine State and with a run of 35 years of broadcasts to a very large and loyal viewing audience from Pensacola to The Florida Keys…(read more at source)
