騎士になるために修行中だった青年アーサーが、伝説の聖剣エクスカリバーを巨大な岩から引き抜いてしまったことからこの物語ははじまる。目の前にマーリンと名乗るマジシャンが現れ、アーサーに「聖杯を見つけだしなさい」と告げた。かくしてアーサーの旅ははじまる。カプコンお得意の奥行きのあるタイプの横スクロールアクションゲーム。新しい手法として、レバーとボタンの組み合わせで、剣の大振りや、防御ができるようになっている。お馴染みのメガクラッシュも使用可能。
