VLOG #19 – I have been following Miss Earth since its inception in 2001. The pageant has grown tremendously since then, and it is now considered by most pageant followers and by the media as the third largest pageant in the world after Miss Universe and Miss World. It is unique among the major pageants because it has a specific advocacy – environmental awareness. Despite its popularity and relevance to today’s society, the pageant suffers from certain flaws (production, management) that need to be corrected immediately if it seeks to maintain its momentum.

+ miss Earth Have a pretty fake advocacy. Advocacy only applies during quarantine. Then all the activities are in a bikini. There's nothing interesting about Miss Earth. So other than the Philipines, no one was interested. Many international pageant portals rarely update on miss Earth. Moreover, there are many reports of sexual harassment against participants. Miss Earth is the 9th best pageant according to me after misd world, Miss universe, miss international, miss grand international, miss supranational, miss tourism international, miss eco international, miss intercontinenal, miss earth, and miss global are my top 10 fav pageant.

Their organization is blatantly biased for PH delegates. The organizers are Filipinos, sponsors Filipinos, judges are Filipinos, and they will even crown a Filipino woman. The most horrible decision they've ever made was crowning Karen Ibasco.
I still don't understand why miss earth use plastic to all like the chair, plate and spoon
They have great advocacy but wasted it. Now, international lost interest to Miss Earth.
I hope they will never offer balut to the contestant. They have to think that majority of their candidates are vegetarian because they are advocate of environment, so they don't want to eat animals. Even though balut is a traditional food but this pageant is all about environment not about promoting Filipino culture.

If Miss Earth org wants people around the world to take Miss Earth seriously, the organization should really focus on its goal and advocacy. Miss Earth is actually older than Greta Thunberg. Look at where Miss Earth is at and where Greta Thunberg is at. Has anybody ever measured Miss Earth's carbon footprint?
Sir I observed that Miss International beauty contestants know how to speak English. If that is the case why not required each of them to speak English. Anyway English is an international language. If the dont speak English do not participate in any pageant that requires English.

i have subscribed not too long ago, and what fascinates me is the way you present your critiques of a pageant and your unapologetic approach to it. as a true pageant fan, i could easily be offended or stroked by what you say about the girls and the pageants themselves but the tinge of truth cannot be denied in every word you say because you do your research very well and that holds me back and think, “yes, he’s got a point”.
