  1. You've seen original CARRIE 1976 and the best version but why don't you check out 2002 + 2013 and also carrie 2 the rage. Also why don't you check out all the original karate kid films then watch Cobra Kai all 5 seasons so far. BTW salems lots 79 you said 2nd worst Stephen King film wtf. Its brilliant and better than the original Shinning and the best vampire film ever. Better than Lost Boys. When lost boys n buffy vampire slayer looked upto original salems lot.

  2. I watched this on TV when I was 8 years old. The Return to Salem's Lot was awful. The later version with Rob Lowe isn't as good as the 1979 version, even though parts are more accurate to the book. The vampire eye effect was from specially made contacts. Also, the Glick boy's mother was the actual wife of the actor that played Straker.

  3. I read the book when it came out. I was 10.
It said NOTHING about vampires on the back cover. It scared the crap out of me. So much so that I went and bought a cross on a chain. It hangs on my bedpost to this day: 48 years later.
Honestly, we laughed at this miniseries when it was first on. Although the Glick kid at the window is perhaps one of the most scary things I've ever seen on TV.

  4. As much as I don't appreciate Mr. King and I'm not a Starsky and Hutch fan, I still kind of enjoyed this. Several of his stories made the small screen. You know, making out at the lake after meeting the parents makes it less like a first date. I forgot about Holly Gennaro's colorful past. Never seen James Mason so creepy. Thanks for bringing this back.

  5. Ugh…there's a commandment AGAINST graven images and most sects of christians try to follow that EXCEPT CATHOLICS…who are a construct of the Roman Empire and not REALLY christians but an amalgamation of Roman Mythology and Christian Mythology.

  6. Uma Thurman showed me it's possible for humans to get out of wooden caskets buried somewhat shallow. But I'm thinking a modern coffin under 8 feet of dirt would be pretty hard.

  7. Marie Windsor, Elisha Cook, Jr., Geoffrey Lewis, Lew Ayres, Fred Willard, James Mason, Bonnie Bedelia – my goodness! David Soul and Lance Kerwin (James at 15) are the weak acting links, IMHO!

  8. Regardless of my opinions of the adaptations, James Mason (this one) and Max von Sydow (Needful Things) are two of the most perfectly cast actors in Stephen King projects ever. I remember liking this when it came out and I was a 14 year old Stephen King fan, but I haven't revisited it since. Needful Things had a great cast but didn't hold together for me as a film overall. Some great moments though. edit: and I was today years old when I found out that Bonnie Bedelia was in both!
