Title: better than regular boxed hair color
Review: I bought this to cover some grays and roots from previous coloring with a med. ash blonde. I got the light ash blonde because dyes always come out about 2 shades darker on my hair. I used 10v developer because regular box dyes always make the root area fade to a brassy orange color after a couple washes, and i wanted to try to less lift and more deposit of color. This turned out so great, more natural looking ash color, no green or weird tones, grays are just starting to fade a little bit and it has been over a week and i wash my hair daily. I will definitely buy this again, made my hair feel soft, good coverage and well worth the extra few dollars!!

Title: Very Impressed!
Review: This is the 3rd or 4th brand I’m trying to achieve a cool black. It definitely got rid of the reddish brown tones near my regrowth, unlike the last 2 brands, which is all I was wanting to achieve, although a tint of blue would have been cool, too. I don’t see the blue much if at all however, but that’s very typical for my hair historically, regardless of brand. With this color, the water got much closer to clear when rinsing than other brands, which is promising for longevity. It doesn’t have a super strong ammonia smell, as in once I washed it out, my hair smelled like my conditioner. Usually it smells like it’s been dyed for at least a couple of days. Lastly, my hair was very soft when through, and it covered the grays really well. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Title: Happy to Have Discoved This.
Review: I would actually rate it 4.7 if you could do partial stars. That’s mainly because of a few reasons: 1) It does run a bit darker than expected 2) It’d be great if it was Ammonia free but still this effective 3) It’s a long wait for gray coverage. However, nothing man-made is ever perfect. I LOVE that they don’t do animal testing. This is the best gray coverage I’ve ever experienced. It’s fairly natural looking color, for the natural color options, with dimensions and shine. My hair has seemed much healthier since I’ve been using this product compared to years of other hair coloring products. While it does have the common hair color odor during application, it’s not as intense as other products. By using the same few colors that blend well, a tube lasts a while since I can simply touch up the roots and or lighten up or darken slightly according to the seasons. Because it does run dark and my skin tone is not forgiving with many shades, I play around with mixing lighter shades with the darker end of my preferred range to get somewhere in-between which works for me. I recommend doing similar if you find that it runs darker than expected. Sometimes going a full shade higher is can be light.

Title: Reds are beautiful but accuracy is a problem.
Review: My natural color is a very, very light strawberry/reddish blonde, often mistaken for blonde or red, depending on lighting. I’ve been coloring for a couple of years. Based on my roots, I think I’m starting to grey. Blue eyes, cool fair skin, some freckles.The following are different shades that I’ve tried and my experience.7RC – This is where my journey began. After an unfortunate temporary blue color that wasn’t fully washing out, and an even more unfortunate interaction with Nice n Easy red, I was advised to use Schwarzkopf bond enforcing color remover, followed by a good quality level 7 red. This was quite pretty and true to the box on day one. Being new to red hair color, I took a hot shower on day two or three and my hair faded to orange. It was the first time I colored after using the color remover, so I hadn’t built up a good base red, that might account for the dramatic change. I used 7RC for a few months and the color became darker and more saturated, a little better on the fading front (with a lot of care), but I always felt like a clown, it was just too red, too vibrant.6RC – So I started mixing 7RC and 6RC 50/50 and that toned down the clown red, but it still was too vibrant. So then I did strictly 6RC for a year or more. It always came out crazy dark, like mahogany, reddish dark brown, but I could wash using normal temperature water and it would gradually fade to the prettiest copper. This was the color where I got compliments almost daily, whether it was dark or faded. Eventually I grew tiredof the dark and wanted to achieve that pretty copper on day one, not three weeks in 😄8RC – So I used the color remover on my 6RC hair and used 8 RC color for a few months. It was coppery, it looked more natural and closer to the color on the box. It just wasn’t very flattering on my cool, fair skin that flushes red easily. Much like my natural color, it also looked very different depending on lighting, and could look too vibrant at times.7NRG – Around this time I saw the neutral reds for the first time. I thought this might be more flattering with my cool skin and eyes. It came out crazy dark, darker than 6RC, which comes out crazy dark. My hair looked dark brown. I had to be in the sun to show red, and it is much more resistant to fadng than the RC colors, though it has faded a bit, I still don’t like how dark red/blackish brown the lengths are.I also don’t love the condition my hair is in. Because of how much red fades, you have to recolor the lengths every month too. My wavy curls are now just sad waves, my once thick healthy hair feels dry and thin. Ive been using K18 a few times a month and heavily moisturizing products, and occasionally a bit of protein. I don’t use the hair dryer too often. Now, I am aging, and I do have health conditions and medications that couldbe a factor, but I think that permanent color every month (my hair grows fast) may be adding to my problems. Currently trying to figure out where to go from here. I’m experimenting with Keracolor Clenditioner in Autumn, not sure it’s sticking to my roots though…I have been very happy with Age Beautiful coverage. Reds are difficult and require a ton of upkeep, it’s a known problem. 😕
