Title: Absolutely Love This Color
Review: I wanted a warmer color for the fall/winter, and I saw this and it was the perfect choice! I received so many compliments, especially with the pixie cut I have.I was a little darker than the picture because I had blonde hair for the summer and I just love it!

Title: absolutely amazing!!
Review: the color came out SO well and even though i left it in for a bit longer than instructed it really worked. love it!! only used half since i was using another color with and my hair isn’t exactly the type this is marketed to (i’m white with short, wavy hair). this brand is just absolutely amazing and i really reccomend it. i’m keeping the conditioner bottle for multiple uses, too 🙂 my hair is super soft

Review: Hi, long time self improver of my hair’s color, 1st time Softsheen-Carson Dark and Lovely Hair Dye user. That being said I thought that my hair’s texture {very course, grey since 16 that had completely taken over my brown, if I allowed} has a mind of it’s own- curly, wavy there are colic’s it’s a wild mess that I let be what God had planned for my hair. The color is a different situation it is always a challenge when dyeing but able to manipulate. My experience with using this product is on the fence still. the Violet shade over my already processed dyed hair I thought would blend and maybe not as purple as I want but working it’s way in that direction. It actually went more red than I would’ve liked also being a product geared toward women of color it’s moisture level in my hair hasn’t impressed. Overall my hair post use is kinda red/brown/ violet/ grey and dry. Sorry Dark n Lovely, help me help myself please.

Title: Do Not Waste Your Money on Virtual Violet
Review: TL;DR: Severely damaged my hair, did not color my hair as claimed.I can’t speak for the other shades, but Virtual Violet is simply false advertisement. I am no stranger to dyeing my natural hair, and I’ve used the Loreal Hicolor shades for a couple years now. Those are also no-bleach dye for dark hair, and I have never had a problem with them. What made me decide to give Dark & Lovely a try was the color on the front of the box; it claims to take a very dark hair shade to a very bright and vibrant purple, something Loreal does not offer.This was simply untrue.My hair was the same shade as the darkest shade of the samples on the back of the box, and I hadn’t dyed my shoulder-length natural hair in about two/two-and-a-half years, so almost all of my hair was virgin, save for about two inches from the bottom.Not only did the dye not even come close to the shade pictured on the front of the box (at best, under direct light, it was a slightly reddish brown) it also gave me more damage than I have ever had, including when I bleached my previously-relaxed hair back in high school.For full transparency, I left the dye on about 45min, which is longer than they said to on the box, but I had done this before with Loreal and had no issues. Again, all but perhaps two inches of my hair was virgin, and not only was there significant damage to my hair (it’s thinner now and it tangles and breaks extremely easily) I also had no real color to show for it. This was about a month ago, and for some reason, each time I have washed my hair sense then, the water has been faintly red, despite there being almost no visible change to my hair.If you have dark or natural hair and are looking for a no-bleach purple dye, I would recommend the Loreal hicolor shades for dark hair only. They are more red-purple than blue-purple, but at least they do not claim to be anything they are not, and they do work, so you will at least see results that will make up for any damage you may do to your hair.

Title: “Shrinkflated;” I like the new conditioner
Review: I’ve been usin this brand for 16 years; I’ve basically used every color they have. During the height of the pandemic the price went up but the product remained mostly the same, with nothing but improvements since I’ve been using it. This round of purchasing was disappointing. When I opened my two bottles (I ordered two boxes because I have curly hair), I noticed right away that they had way less of the developer cream in each squeeze bottle, to the point where I almost would have needed three boxes to cover my not even chin length hair. This is a bit annoying, especially if there aren’t that many boxes of the color you need available or if the price decides to increase. I do really like the formulation of the new conditioner; it’s buttery and seems to help better with some of that dryness dyeing can cause. Overall if the price increases, I’ll be saying goodbye to this brand. For now, I’m just going to be keeping an eye out for changes that may not work for me. The dye is still overall not bad for the price.
