Get Pageant Questions Written By A Miss Universe Judge
I invited three pageant connoisseurs to share their thoughts on each of the contestants from Asia & Oceania: Hector Joaquin Colon Gonzalez (or simply Hector Joaquin), multi-platform progressive journalist, actor, and social commentator; Phil Pugeda (moderator of Missosology forums and Missosology correspondent for Miss Universe 2015 and 2019); and Peter Sereno (creator of Dear Pageant Girl and coach of Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins) dressed up as Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Essex. LOL. The group chat was conducted via Zoom on March 13, 2021 starting at 9:00 PM EST.
After assessing each contestant, we rated her on a scale of 1 to 10. Then at the end of the show, we each reveal our top 5 favorites. Our opinions have no bearing on the judges’ decision on the finals. We base our opinions primarily on the contestants’ presence on social media. #MissUniverse #PageantExperts #MissUniverse2020
TIMELINE
0:00 – Warm-up: I forgot to record the first 2 minutes of this chat where we talked about Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Essex. Peter dressed up as the Duchess. Peter/Meghan jokingly said that she would run for the U.S. presidency someday, and I referred to a cartoon showing President Joe Biden at the Oval Office with Vice-President Kamala Harris stretching out a measuring tape and measuring the windows. Lol.

India is a goddess… Our next miss universe 🇮🇳❤️
Awwww im kinda sad hearing all the comments about mu malaysia. I myself can see she is trying her best to prove that we can do this and whatever it is, may malaysia shine on that stage soon.
LOVE FROM INDIA 🇮🇳♥ And yes India isn't coming to play this time…🔥💫👑
I can't entirely agree with your critique of Rabiya, but I respect your opinion. Let's see how Rabiya performance in the final; after all, she's a dark horse—looking for more live sessions.
Ms feel a peen!!! Loved listening to this channel.
Philippines fans are waaaay too sensitive. I'm Jamaican and I'm rooting for Jamaica, and many folks don't see what I see in Jamaica, and that's fine. We all have our own opinions. The only opinions that will really matter are the members of the judging panel. But until then, let people have their opinions. Not everyone is gonna tout Philippines as their ultimate fave. I know all/most of the dislikes on this video are from Filipino fans lol.
This is probably the best comprehensive review i've watched about MU 2020 contestnts from Asia/Oceania! Four different opinions by four different people yet done in a civil & respecftul way. Congrats guys! Looking forward to your final predictions!
Sending love from Myanmar
Great show guys! Totally enjoyed it!! 💖🎉 Love the opinions..Asia is the strongest region for sure!! 👸👑
Hmmm…y'all gave Thailand a very high score / ranking. Maybe I haven't been checking her out that much. I dunno. Thailand always places, but just doesn't seem to execute on the final night, like u all mention. Q&A is a big problem for them. Until they fix that, I'll never put them as the one to beat. 2017, 2019, same result. 2018's queen wasn't that impressive at all – Top 10 placement was just a host nation gift, imo. (EDIT): Just watched a couple interviews from her, and I'm sorry, but speaking ability, is not up to par. Yes, she can speak perfect English, but thats not what its about. Her responses to questions are basic and not very impactful. There is room for improvement and still time though, so let's see how she does. But if a contestant like Canada, Peru, USA or Jamaica make it to the Top 5, she'll be annihilated. Thailand comes off too shy and not assertive when she speaks.
My favourite from this region is India. She is exquisite and I expect her to go all the way to the Top 5 easily. Wouldn't be surprised if she wins. Sometimes we focus too much on the fluency of the English language and not more on the delivery. India has great delivery when she speaks and thats important. Works well for Q&A responses. Philippines as well. They have a confidence about them.
That guy's honesty is taken, but thinking that Rabiya may not advance the TOP20 is not about his honesty anymore. Its a sign he is not fit to be a critique. Get out! Instead of criticizing Rabiya's way of answering (like an educator), why not look at the advantage as educators, by skill, are trained to influence, to teach, to get your attention. For me this is an advantage, with a bit of tweaking. The way she talks is very Filipino and I think she embodied the Filipina-ness most Filipinos are looking for, thats why she is very much liked. If I were her coach, I will not force her to change it, but improve it. @1:17:49 thanks for the attempt of reviving your FIlipinos hearts by saying "We love you Rabiya" but you failed…Next!
Yes, I agree with you guys about Miss Philippines. I see her in the top 20. The Miss Universe pageant is very competitive this year with the likes of Jamaica, South Africa and Peru. They need to stop putting so much pressure on their delegates to win. So what if they don’t win every year let them be themselves. We want delegates we can relate to. Stop the pageant pattiness it’s getting stale. I like Miss Philippines and wish her the best of luck. My bet for Miss Universe is Jamaica! Don’t forget the delegates have to speak English very well and be very relatable. For me Jamaica is the one to beat! Don’t forget the crowd will be going wild for the Philippines and then Jamaica if Miss Philippines doesn’t make the top five.
My Top Three:
1. Jamaica 🇯🇲
2. South Africa 🇿🇦
3. India 🇮🇳
Yes Amanda natural beauty been working with mental health advocacy on her own for quite awhile now. As well as educating others regarding social issues and teaching english to others, along with working on the side as a model to support herself. The department of mental health which is government run had just invited her to be an ambassador. She not hired or get paid by them and don’t care to speak out against the violence going on in Thailand and Myanmar. To her people life is more important than the crown. No democracy no free speech and violence and brutality is wrong in her opinion. By speaking out she risk being replaced and thrown in jail. She is beautiful inside and out and a real brave queen …!!
Love from Philippines! Waiting for more live sessions!
Greeting from Indonesia to you all ..❤️❤️❤️❤️
