  1. Please say more. I already know the bad stuff it's just so comforting knowing it's an internacional problem. It will never make me not want to participate in pageants. One day people who actually care about women will do better, maybe this will be you. Please do a follow up.💗💗💗

  2. Hello Siera, i'm 21yrs old and from India.. i have to say your videos are worth watching and so informative as i too am a pageant enthusiast. I look forward to participate in my national pageant and hopefully later to miss universe. But i'm always very conscious about my height. i'm 167cm, approximately 5'5". Do you think i can still have a chance at winning miss universe? this factor really pulls my spirit down. Looking for your honest opinion. Please do reply 🙂

  3. It appears pageant directors in general are a bunch dysfunctional control freaks, and especially in Canada. In the late 1990s there was a program that Joan Severance hosted: Contestants Tell All: Secrets of Beauty Pageants Exposed and featured one former Miss Canada International (Danielle House) and one Miss Canadian International (Gabriella Petivoky) and both talked about their rather bad experience with their pageant directors and organizations.

  4. Yes, very helpful. Please do a follow up video and tips to handle situations like this. I’ve had a positive experience since day one, but I hear many girls haven’t depending on the state. You could make an hour long video about the pageant world and I would watch the whole thing with you and Lily in it 😄 so please make another 🙌🏾

  5. Siera, just became a follower about 2 months ago and certainly loved your videos, they were all inspiring and positive. But I loved even more this video where you shared the negative aspects of pageantry and I think, still in a positive way. You provided us with the humanity of the women competing in pageants giving us a clearer perspective what these ladies go through, their challenges and hardships. I have now even more respect for all these women, it’s not all about glamour but the perseverance, the blood, sweat and tears that comes with the beauty pageants. ❤️👍🏼

  6. Same thing with Philippines. It was owned by a Colombian lady and made Filipino candidates wear a Colombian designer, it was shit. If it wasn't for Pia Wurtzbch and Filipino citizen pressuring her to wear a Filipino designer, she wouldn't change it. I am pretty sure, it wasn't the only thing that we know of regarding on how she bully her contestant. The problem, that I see with these directors, theirs so out of touch of what the actual contestant needs to WIN. And contestant like yourself and Pia who've been competing many years before landing a title has enough experience to see what is wrong yet, the way these directors see their contestant is just a contestant not even an employee but as contestant to do whatever the hell they want to do. For me, I'm surprised why you're not a member of the panel or directors for Canadian pageant, the amount of knowledge you have will make a lot of the difference the way Canada is running it's pageant now.

  7. Thank you for sharing this siera. People should start seeing that it's not just that one girl who succeeds or fails and gets all the blaim for the whole teams lack of competence. I should be a group effort that helps each other and empowers each and every one of it's members. That's whats makes a miss universe title. Every successful queen has that strong support from her team.

  8. Can you make a reaction video about Oxana Federova's performance because she was considered by global beauties as the most beautiful miss universe and she is the only dethroned Miss Universe.

  9. Not able to understand what is Canada's national director dreams? Ruining other girls dream. I dont understand how this behaviour could possibly help them professionally…it doesnt help anyone. Can you elaborate more as to why do they do this. Cause i was rooting for you at miss universe and when you came out in your gown, i felt bad but now that i know of it. I feel its none of your fault.
Also have you heard girls from other countries such as India talk about similar things?

  10. When you’re gonna talk About the Dark Side Of MU or there’s no dark side ? and Like bad Attitude of contestants , like I know some are fake just because they have to be nice but they’re actually just mean Girls ?

  11. sorry I HAVE to say it…THE first queen I think of that could be a bit Cray Cray….I mean not hiding behind the shower curtain with a knife Cray Cray but…maybe! lol
anyway ….can you say Miss Venesuala from your year?? eeeeek! I felt the girl interrupted vibes from her for sure. But not trying to be negative cause I'm not….just an observation I guess, she could be perfectly sane I guess lol

  12. It's sad that these things happened to you. But I was glad to see you place because I was honestly rooting for you in MU2016….basically because of the body shaming issue you were having. I went like, "YEAH! EAT THAT LOSERS!" But now that you've said that, I bet you could have gone even further in the competition because you're very capable…if you were ever given the chance to prepare well enough, I believe you would have gone to win that year's crown.

Nonetheless, you are a QUEEN to me. Beautiful, intelligent, eloquent and authentic. It's a huge loss for the world, especially for MU Canada, to not have someone like you exist.

  13. Thanks for sharing this, which pretty muvh confirms just how bad things get behind the scenes of what are supposed to be the most glamorous events around. In the Philippines, although many Pinoys are die hard pageant fans, there wasn't any real focus on the logistics of our candidates for Miss Universe only until recently. In fact, most of the attires that have been worn by our representatives for the longest time were made by foreign designers who knew very little about Filipino culture. Stella Araneta, a Colombian and the first Miss International, who married a Filipino, has been the head of the organization which handles Binibining Pilipinas for decades. In 2014, our candidate MJ Lastimosa had no choice but to wear a national costume and a final evening gown made by a Colombian as per the wished of the organization. Both attires did not properly represent the Philippines and were sub-par in quality and design that the drawn-out backlash that ensued after from Filipino pageant fans prompted Pia Wurtzbach to urge the BB Pilipinas organization to consider using attires made by local designers for her to rock on the MU stage. Since then, Filipino designs have always been showcased by the candidates and winners of our major local pageants. The exquisite designs have caught the attention of people around the world, so much so that many international pageant candidates have started to tap Pinoy designers for their gowns.

  14. Maybe you should vlog while ur daughter is sleeping 🙂 What if she suddenly pee or blank??? Or did it happened before? But I love seeing ur daughter 🙂 She's adorable.

  15. THanks for sharing this with us Siera!! Love from Brazil (btw can totally see the national costume being very Latina alike, I loved the one you ended up wearing! It’s gorgeous! You made the right decision!)

  16. siera please make a video about the characters of contestants in miss universe 2016, who is evil (what kind of evilness she did) who is kind (what kind of kindess that she did) without mentioning her name or country.

  17. I think the national costume should alway be made by a local designer, someone from the same country- that said – I loved your costume- it was a playful, sexy snowflake. As far as the evening gowns I don't know why the pageant directors don't work with retailers like Holt Renfrew. They can also approach Canadian fashion designers.

  18. There are two sides to every story and you only presented your side. I’m sure your former teen director Michelle Weswaldi and your former MUC Director Denis Davila are dying to tell their side of the story.
