If there was ever any doubt that Tara Dawn Holland cannot sing, let her performance "singing" "There She Is" (as the new Miss America walked down the runway), completely confirm the fact. Dogs all over town howled in agony.
Miss North Carolina was absolutely stunning. Movie star beautiful. I knew right away when I saw her….yes…she is beyond beautiful, but this is Miss America where the prettiest girl in the contest rarely wins. And naturally…she didn't.
Miss Hawaii Erika Kauffman should be on Top 5 instead of Miss Illinois Katherine Shindle and eventually won! She's an amazing singer!

I thought initially that N.Carolina should have won, but then I met Kat Schindle at an event in the Gay-borhood in West Hollywood, CA. She was very personal and intelligent…needless to say, I changed my mind. Kate became one of my favorites Miss Americas. She spoke eloquently about AIDS research. I lost a host of friends and relatives from the dis-ease. She tore down the door to change perceptions and provided access on this once very taboo subject.
Did Miss Hawaii say legalized marriage was absolutely sick? And she made the top 10?
