In New York City, Nigerians from across the world gathered for the annual “Miss Nigeria USA” beauty pageant – and wow what a party!
“We are here to see the most beautiful girls in the USA from Nigeria!”
And of course, everyone’s favourite online entertainment channel was there – BattaBox.
The pageant featured 18 girls from across Nigeria’s 36 states who live in America, and the competition included swimsuit display, evening gowns, traditional dances and talent displays, and much, much more – as each girl strutted their stuff on the stage.
“I’m extremely proud of these women – they’re the women to watch,” explains the Miss Nigeria 2016 event planner.
However, there can be only one winner and at the end of the night, the judges decided on “Miss Ekiti” – or, Lola Adeoye – who is studying law. Lola Adeoyes platform will focus on suicide and depression awareness and prevention – an cause she says is dear to her heart.
The judges were Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade, DPiper Twins, Ngozi Opara of Heat Free Hair, celebrity stylists Kanayo Ebi and Moses “Moashy” Ebite, Hana Unis, A.J Ross of ABC 7 News and Essence Magazine’s Charrea Jackson.
