Nobody is holding a gun on these women to make them compete in this contest. It's about celebrating the transitory beauty of young women . It's not for you or me or anyone else to shut down these contests. If there was no interest , on women's part , nobody would be competing. Am I right? Those contestants were like the jackal and sour grapes.
Indian women's average height is 5ft but femina Miss India had 5.5 ft as a criteria for years. Recently reduced to 5.3 ft. Much of North East India is out of this criteria. Most of them are not 5.3. Dark (I am talking of those from South India, not the wheatish dark) have hardly won any of these contests in India which are essential for going onto international forum. There is no inclusion. Only a body meeting a particular checklist is what matters. Half starving, half naked women. 😊 These are merely launch pad for women to work as models or actors. They gotta change the name from Miss India to Miss Model and likewise for other peagents like Miss World, miss universe
