Olivia smashed Final question but Janine was the more well rounded competitor tough call….
This competition is a great example of how different perceptions, beauty standards and small differences can effect the placement of very deserving competitors. Sometimes it comes down to one persons personal preference that determines the outcome but this also shows that regardless of placement a Queen can stand the test of time and leave a mark on the would without having been awarded the top title.

Janine Tugonon gave the best answer during the final Q and A. I my self cant believe what happened then but at the end of the day it's one's woman's destiny. Destiny favored Olivia, it was timely during the Trump era of Ms Universe, but had it happen during IMG, it would have been Janine Tugonon crowned as Ms Universe. Janine said she had moved on and being first runner up made us Filipinos very proud. To us Filipinos, Janine is the Miss Universe we never had. To Janine, congratulations! We are proud of you! 🥰😍😇😊🙂

I was expecting it like the 2008 edition (Yes, Trump Era) wherein Venezuela outsmarted Colombia during the final Q&A that's why Dayana won. The whole evening Colombia was slaying every portion but come question and answer and Dayana sealed the deal that night and won.
That's one of the reason why we cannot moved on with this year (2012), because we thought that when it comes to the final 5, having a powerful answer would make you win that night. Some would say that Janine got a much easier question, but was it her fault? She was asked and she delivered a beautiful and relatable answer.
I am not invalidating Olivia's effort that time but Janine was way more ahead of her in each segments (swimsuit, gown and final answer).
Final thought: It all comes down to who the organization wants to represent them and sadly it's not our girl Janine. But she will always be a Miss Universe for us Filipinos. Our third Miss Universe (supposedly if she won).

All problem is down to the miss universe thing, they mostly cook something and then pick what they want not who deserves
Olivia's walk is not even that great. She walks like she is constipated or something. Yes, she has abs but she looks anorexic during her swimsuit performance.

As a Pinoy, I was hoping for Jenine to win, of course, because of her intelligence in Q&A (graduated in pharmacy summa cum laude) but Olivia deserved to win, she's also smart and obviously very beautiful. But Google Jenine's photos and look for photos without makeup…she's very beautiful without makeup. Her makeup during the competition didn't do anything for her.
