  1. This is really sad and heartbreaking news to hear that Cheslie Kyrst passed away. 😢💔
I can only imagine what her family is dealing with losing such a special person in their lives.

In 2019, she was one fifth of a historic win with five black women sweeping all five major beauty pageants crowns: Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Universe, and Miss World, and Miss Teen USA.

As Miss USA, Cheslie Kyrst helped to inspire millions of young girls to see themselves as both beautiful and intelligent. She was definitely the embodiment of sophiscation, elegance, and grace.

May She Rest With GOD in eternal peace. I send ALL my prayers and condolences to her family and friends. The LEGACY she left will continue to live on for many more young girls to follow. She will be ALWAYS loved and GREATLY missed.  🙏🏿❤🕊

  2. Is not even about race so I don’t know why she made that comment about “black women being dismissed” – the female cohost needs to do her research on depression and mental health.

  3. This is why we need to stand with women like Madame Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka when they speak up about their mental health struggles. Even Wendy Williams who checked into a facility. This did not need to happen. Also, we need to stop looking at outside to solve what's inside. Because you get trapped into thinking, "i have everything, but am I still depressed therefore im hopeless." That leads you down the wrong path because it's not about that. You're still depressed because you have to look inside and process your issues. Ugh WHY her? I am so mad. She was that chick!

  4. It's just hard to believe. That is all. I'm still in a state of shock. Who knows what happened in private, or what demons she had. But damn, this chick was on a path. I was a fan of Cheslie since she won Miss USA and I would watch Extra i just to see her interviews. Already she interviewed Denzel, Kevin Hart, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, the big wigs. I imagined she would have moved to hard hitting journalism. She was friends with Gayle King. I imagined that she'd connect with Meghan Markle one day, maybe help run one of her companies or charities or something. Like the sky was the limit and damn. This sucks

  5. Mental health/Mental illness is real. As a Sexual Abuse/Physical abuse survivor battling with Clinical Depression/Anxiety my heart breaks 💔 & aches for Chelsie Kryst Family. Sending my condolences 💐 we gotta start addressing Mental illness within the Black community. It’s so taboo an the stigma must be broken. I’ve been in a dark place these past few days an was Contemplating Suicide. Also I’m a Certified Mental health advocate/Support group facilitator teamed with NAMI. Some days I wanna live an others I’m like God why am I here.

  6. As myself who is suffering in severe depression, it saddens me to hear about this sad news 🙁 My heart and prayers goes out to her family and friends who are in grief at this moment. Rest In Peace Cheslie 🙁

  7. Mental Health is complicated, private and Very Personal. I feel everyone has some form of Personality Disorder, which is not as insulting as using Mental Health Disorder Labels that cause people to be secretive and defensive when dealing with their disorder. Some disorders are more severe than others, however as long as a person is responsible and independent there is no need to worry about the type of shortcomings he or she has.

  8. Do not dismiss This Woman's suicide as just a mental health issue, black people are tired of hate and racial abuse.., people are tired of this toxic Caucasian environment. And you can see by the fist she had up in the right-hand corner. This woman stood for something with little or no support because Unity is not the black way even today

  9. It's just tough because we hear the news of Cheslie…but in the same month Regina King lost her son Ian to suicide, and the voice actor of Charlie Brown from the 60s recently took his life away. There needs to be a way to help people who deal w/depression realize that suicide shouldn't be the final option…there's so much to live for.

  10. When i was growing up, there was no puss ahh "MeNTaL iLLness" 😂😂. It was fix yourself, better yourself, or just off yourself no one cares. Its the jungle out here. Dont be a hoochie

  11. According to insider, Cheslie was intensely & constantly fighting with her parents, because they wanted her to practice her Lawyer MBA profession rather than being a entertainment correspondent in EXTRA.

    There were hurtful words given.
    She was also closeted LGBTQ+.
New York Worsening Winter & Gloomy Weather, Lack of Sunlight, Depression sank in!

She left her properties (with a note, not a will) to her mother- allegedly to hurt her mother & to make her feel guilty.

In her essay in Allure Magazine May 2021 Kryst’s said “A grinning, crinkly-eyed glance at my achievements thus far makes me giddy about laying the groundwork for more, but turning 30 feels like a cold reminder that I’m running out of time to matter in society’s eyes — and it’s infuriating. —-Why earn more achievements just to collect another win? Why pursue another plaque or medal or line item on my resume if it’s for vanity’s sake, rather than out of passion? Why work so hard to capture the dreams I’ve been taught by society to want when I continue to only find emptiness?”

    Rest in Peace Cheslie 💔💔💔

  12. I spoke to my wife about mental health the day before and this happened. This is devastating. I hope the family finds the strength from God to recover through this grieving process.

  13. I’ve been struggling with this for the past decade. I have parents/siblings who love me but I still tend to be down and depressed. I need to get out of this and be happy but as a black man I feel like my options are limited. Rip Cheslie I didn’t know you before today but this tragedy has illuminated the importance of checking on your loved ones daily because no one knows what’s going on in the heads of others.

  14. It breaks my heart that this wonderful young woman was so despondent to have taken her life. She was beautiful inside and out but obviously needed help.

  15. Ebro, Okay hear me out for some reason this sounds really just weird. They said that she lived on the 9th floor she went to the 29th floor and jumped off that is not adding up to me. I'm not saying we all have mental problems there's issues with a lot of people we're all getting therapy look what happened Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, something about the story is just not adding up for me. 😭

  16. We need people to seek a profession in mental health! If everyone right now needs help and so many do after the last 2 years! There’s not enough help! So, please check on your loved ones!

  17. As a black man who was diagnosed with bipolar at 19 and 39 today I fully understand the importance of mental health unfortunately we live in a society especially in the black community where there is lack of empathy and therefore it makes it harder to connect with people. My heart mind and soul goes out to everyone especially in the black community who struggles with any kind of mental health disturbances whether it's anxiety or depression or even sporadic times of mania 🙏🏾
