I thought this was one of the best Miss Teen USA's, the obviously all had fun, and such friendships amongst them. As much as I loved Jamie Solinger as Miss Teen USA, neither her nor Daisy should have been hosting this, that was the only bad part of the pageant. This had to be damn close between Georgia and California. I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to one placement difference.
The stage is disgusting….very much..
Funny story a friend of mine worked at Studio 1 in Greenville SC, I had stopped by to see her, I saw this beautiful blonde hair girl, getting her hair done. I asked my friend to go and talk to her for me. The pretty blonde girl gave her number to my friend to give to me. I found out she was a contestant for miss teen USA, Her name was Mary Elizabeth Stevenson. I called her once, I remember it was a girl who answered, I think her sister, its been so long, I dont remember, Mary wasnt home…I never tried calling her again. I thought "Why would she go out with me?? She a Miss teen contestant.

What I find most funny – aside from Daisy and Jamie loving Georgia and barely mentioning California throughout – was that Brandi Sherwood (former winner and eventual miss USA) didn't give the best scores all night to Georgia or California and, yet, those were the Top 2. Funny how things shake down.
How creepy do you have to be to judge one of these?
Jamie Solinger and Shauna Gambill both competed in Miss USA 1998. Neither won. Shauna won 1st Runner Up, Jamie was unplaced. Kimberly Anne Pressler was nowhere in the Top 12 in Miss Teen USA and was unplaced in Miss Universe 1999.

Miss USA 1999 and Miss Teen USA New York Kimberly Pressler was at the bottom with that average preliminary scores

Shauna was a great choice by the other contestants too, based on their reaction after she was announced the winner.

mp re: justness martin I agree with you with Tennessee and Georgia those 2 did not got judges overall impression did you see when they reacted to made final 6 I believe their answers to judges questions are little bit over reacted but Georgia answer she did not nailed it because boys and girls play sports and Tennessee did not nailed it either but Jamie S. and Daisy F did not talk about California she nailed everything and best in swimsuit but the final question that Kansas and California nailed their answers but my final 3 is South Carolina California and Kansas. I love Mary Elizabeth Stevenson she breathtaking and she nailed her answer is similar to Whitney Fuller's question boys and girls do play sports and teacher is teaching boys and girls at school and help them also. South Carolina should be top 3 with Kansas and California

I think Tennessee and Georgia were overrated. I found Georgia to be particularly annoying. Just a smug over confidence which did not help her in the final question. Tennessee's evening gown was lovely but it did not go with her body. I loved South Carolina and Louisiana and wished Louisiana had made it to the top 6 then 3. And of course, Shauna was perfect and well deserving of her win. Charlotte Lopez was even more beautiful than the night she won… if that could be possible. Her final parting words touched the heart and she looked radiant! Daisy Fuentes and Jaime Solanger were not good commentators. I found them very annoying and Jaime should have dressed a little more modestly. She did not have to show so much cleavage in her outfits. Final analysis: Shauna was the clear winner! I would have placed South Carolina and Louisiana in the top three with her.

Dean Kelly was an embarrassment as a judge. Not only is it clear that he was blatantly trying to tilt the results (look at his scoring of the 6 finalists), but he was shortly afterward sentenced to 8 years in prison for sex crimes.
Georgia's top 6 question was the same question given to Miss Canada in Miss Universe 1995's top 6 round.
Jamie surprised to see her in the top 3? Come on she answered the best.
