i remember seeing this when i was 8 years old! I've had this song in my head for years, and the lyrics are so strange, i thought i made the whole thing up–you really can find ANYTHING online!
I actually saw this performance (three times) during that year's Miss America Pageant (I grew up in Atlantic City). It was a really fun number, and Kathie Lee did an awesome job with it. The Pageant just hasn't been the same since it left AC and the Boardwalk. I wish they'd find a way to bring it back.

I met Kathie Lee (then Johnson) in 1977 at the ritzy hotel in Dayton where I was a plainclothes security person. She invied me to the best supper club in Dayton where she was performing. She called me up on the stage and gave me a big kiss (on the lips). That was a wonderful evening..Her singing was wonderful. i followed her ever since.
Not really. You take her through the routing enough times and then surround her with lots of capable dancers. Just look at Warren Sapp.
Kathie Lee will always be my little la-la girl. Still, I couldn't help but be reminded of Bette Midler when I watched this, too.

Kathie Lee is great…but NOBODY performs this like Bette Midler on her 1980 Divine Madness Tour DVD. AMAZING.
She seems to be trapped in the Lawrence Welk era of pleasant but vacuous entertainment.
I love Kathie Lee . I don't care what any says about her. I've seen her live many times and what a performer
