  1. very controversial top 10. miss washington was deaf….miss Pennsylvania was awaiting a kidney transplant….and miss oklahoma had been disfigured on a parade float. many said they kept miss south carolina kimilee bryant and miss louisiana stacy king out of the top 10.

  2. Lol Yes Jeri Ryan's outfit is very Blanche Devereaux and I can imagine her in it while fanning herself on the lanai. But worst of all miss Pennsylvania looks straight up like Blanche Devereaux with the same hairdo!

  3. Well apparently – and this is first hand from one of the contestants – before they left Convention Hall on Friday for the boardwalk parade – a small handful of contestants ran back to use the restroom once more – they happened to pass a studio room unbeknownst to the TV crew where the crew was editing tapes to show who would be winning non-finalist talent awards for the tv broadcast. So this small group of girls knew none of them made top 10, and one of them was nonfinalist talent winner!

  4. Did anyone recognize the first one announced, Jerry Lynn Zimmerman? Well, that's Jerry Ryan, actress, famous for a many, many TV series (such as "Seven of Nine" in Star Trek: Voyager) and a few movies. Currently she's starring in Season 3 of the ABC series "Body of Proof" She finished 4th place in Miss America 1990.

  5. Some famous ladies came out of that top 10: Winner: Debbye Turner Bell, DVM Veterinarian and CBS TV Personality, Miss Maryland (1st Runner-up) Virginia Cha, Headline News Network Anchor and Miss Ilinois, Jeri Ryan, Actress on "Body of Proof"
