MISS WORLD 1973 was dethroned and Miss Philippines who was first runner-up did not accept the offer to succeed as she actually had higher score than Miss USA but the American actor who was chairperson of the judges announced Miss USA as winner… as a protest, the father of Miss Philippines told the daughter that it is self-respect not accept the crown.
When USA places in modern pageant its earned never given. Speaking is the strength of a Miss USA. Some have negative feelings about women of color winning the Miss USA crown lately but it's a competition. May the best queen win. Like countries like France and South Africa, our diverse selection of queens we send are our strength.
