In this “opinion piece”, I take a quick look at the pros and cons of the two most recent eras of Miss Universe ownership, and suggest some possible improvements to keep the pageant relevant in both the developed and developing worlds.

I agree with u said that miss Universe should return to the traditional aspect of ihe beauty pageant of it not a saver of the world. That made me dislike IMG so much.

Not that long a go, Anne has insulted Catriona Gray publicly in Thailand talk show by revealing Catriona's sexual secret while in bed with Clint Bondad. Anne used to snatch Clint & Clint's brother and took them around several Thai Talk shows bragging that both were her lovers along with other men in her harems

I would love to see MU reign for 2 years. I think one year is not enough time for the winner to accomplish much. Also switching the competition to every two years will allow for more planning and larger budget.

MGI and MW is the best Pageant when it comes to the first cut, because the sash is very diverse. Also one of my favorite is that this two Pageant give us a chance for a country with a lot of support so im so proud when there is Indonesian enter to the top 10/6 and get the Runner up. For me MW and MGI is more fair to us thats why the reputation of MU in our country is a bit not famous right now, the only thing is that MU is always dominate with Puerto Rico, Brazil, Philippines, Colombia, Venezuela. So… Ya MGI and MW is the most famous Pageant in our country

I think, same as MU is not famous on Europe because only France can enter to the first cut. There should be an improvement for MU to make a better placement. Thats why when Karolina of Poland win in the MW thats very amazing because this women is very great and send to the MW than MU 😂, same as Mariana Bekcova send to the MGI than MU. Also the sucessor of Karolina send to the MGI than MU

I have a big doubt for the new owner of Miss Universe, I think it will removing the true essence of Miss Universe. While IMG is quite good, I think we have to give emphasize to the fact that Europian Nation is also deserving to own Miss Universe Organization because they are also equal person.

You are right about the bias. But the so-called fans you mention are Filipinos and the reason they are worried is because Miss Universe organization has been favoring Philippines way too long. The last edition was a joke. I hope new Thai owner means we can see other countries in Europe or Asia place, contestants who are physically beautiful

👏🏾 Every single word is on point Pageant Nerd. I enjoyed Steve Harvey up to 2017, after that even he lost his steam. Also thank you for highlighting IMG's obsession with having the contestants address unnecessary world issues. It made them not only rehearsed, but made them want to make the next "iconic" statement… which imo is one of the reasons Natasha Joubert never placed. They should bring back questions that show their personality and thoughts

I was expecting a recap of all the owners of the Miss Universe pageant from 1952 until now. Hopefully the new owners will bring some stability and replace some of the key players like Paula Shuggart who I think haven't done anything useful in recent years other than hold on to a job.
