Good stuff Steve.
My two (or less than) cents re: a few of these regular panelists & "truth telling w/out a subtle agenda and/or modest label prejudice" over hundreds of videos, in total, in 2023:

All Them Witches…check them out!
Iβd really love some true audiophile reissues of The Kinks and The Who in 2024! As in, One Steps or UHQRs, not that half-speed mastered fluff.
Thoughts on getting the Impex GETZ/GILBERTO?
Iβm just glad to hear someone actually talk about Savatage. Probably my all time favorite band.
Iβm hoping that we get more pressings like White Stripes UHQR. Stuff from the modern era!
That Spyro Gyra album is absolutely amazing and fantastic and I too have the Nautilus Half-Speed Mastered.
Steve, emailed you after the show, If the overseas shipping is too juicy I'm perfectly fine with someone else getting the Evans. Let me know what you think. Thanks π
I have a copy of Santana Abraxas ARS Kessler pressing you talked about in near mint condition if anyone is interested.
Please, no more Steely Dan, Genesis and Phil Collins, it's so boring. There's so much new music to talk about. Ask Mazzy to help if you're stuck in the past. I wish you very best in 2024.
Thanks to Steve, and these esteemed gentleman, for all the entertaining / informative discussions throughout 2023. Keep em coming in 2024.
My 2024 is a bit of both…plenty of new releases I am interested in (or have not even learned of yet) and buying solid used OGs (that I can decide if I want to upgrade at some point in the future). Great roundtable!
2024 time for 21:27 Less vinyl more stream
The Plangent process is great. However it does nothing to extend the low frequencies.
Jefferson
I concur
The Harrison / Belew Remain in Light tour was awesome
They opened for Les Claypool and John Lennon
And they got to play a complete 2 hour joyous set
CLaypool played the complete PF Animals album – killer night
Nice…big thanks Tim! Just pulled out my REM LRP album and wouldn't you know it…there is a Master disk in the dead wax…although no RL…
Going to now give this a spin since I have not listened to it in awhile
Cheers π»
How about we look for the best sounding music?
Audiophiles seem to pick music based off how nice the recording sounds rather than how good the actual music is.
E.g Steely fking Dan π
Hey Steve!! …and Happy New Year to you and your Family!
What a true/fun episode. You might laugh but I was chosen to go to Lake Couchiching here in Ontario for Music Camp back in 1984. As much as George made fun of you….at that time everyone was listening to Spyro Gyro's Morning Dance was a HUGE 'thing"…along with Pat Metheny. These were top notch jazz players who loved that album so I am happy you got that Nautilus copy….so, way to go.
I finally got my Who's Next half-speed (3 months later) and I have The Lamb 4LP on order.
So happy with my Selling England and Phil Collins 45rpm and I may even go for Foreigner's 1st.
I'm truly excited.
Peace Man!
