  1. So, this is where the phrase comes from? I just came across a 1982 episode of The Price Is Right, and the lady who wins had either just become engaged or was very recently married. She wins her particular showcase, and Bob stands there while the couple are celebrating their win. He goes on to say, "There they are, Mr. and Mrs. (Lastname)."

Years ago, before my grandma passed, when she would see me (or any of her grandsons) the first thing she would always say was, "There he is, Mr. America!"

So, yeah. Never heard about this Bert Parks until Bob Barker proclaimed something in a way that just completely mirror that which my grandma would also say to her grandkids so frequently.

  2. I remember these days we used to sit in front of the TV and watch Burt Parks singing to the newly crowned Miss America. To this day it just lit up my life. Hearing Mr. Parks on singing this same song on a new commercial to the Olympian Women, still gives my goosebumps.
Thanks for the memories Bert Parks.
