She is not the best speaker but when she answer its always from the heart, in short she is not a pageant patty beauty queen.Not rehearsed/scripted at all.IMG will love her 100%.

I love her accent. I don’t know why other Filipinos prefer her to speak “better” when she’s already fluent and coherent in her speaking. Akala mo kong sinong mga magagaling. I was not a fan of her to start with, but hearing her speak, I know she was the workings of a true MU.

Wow her attitude towards the struggle and coming to the Philippines and learnin the language is everything. Anyone else would have given up.
Her accent is very Italian, I am impressed how she quickly learned to speak English in short time compare to some Filipinos who studied English subject in school throughout their formative years of education , yet cannot speak straight English nor express themselves in English , without the Ah and the Um pauses. I remember Janina San Miguel in her final Q/A , she went “ oh I’m so sorry , I thought I’m confident right now , but… I’m so sorry ,I’m only seventeen, my family is very important person in my life “ ha! ha! she went to grade school , high school and college where the medium of instruction is English, yet she never learned how to speak it like Celeste Cortesi.
Funny how in the Philippines good communication skills are equated to speaking with an American accent or at least without the unmistakably native accent.
Ms Cortesi is a confident and coherent communicator with a captivating accent.
Just imagine..if she started learning 1st the Pilipino Language instead of English..that would mean she would still need an Interpreter!! The best way really is for her to Learn English 1st..and later hone her Pinoy tongue…Besides, Pinoys can pretty much understand English and it is the Lengua franca, so to speak, in the MU Stage!!..not the Filipino language.
For her learning the National dialect would just add more gravitas on her feeling " More Filipina" and embibing more of the Culture.
She talks …in the way that you'd like to Focus and Listen to what she Speaks!!
Her mother tongue is Italian that's why her English is like that. She doesn't need to change her accent because she wont be the same person if ahe changes it. Mga pinoy gusto makarinig ng american or neutral accent, hindi nga mangyayari yan. Importante masagot nya yung tanong.
Ang comment ko lang is dapat marunong sya konti man lang mag Filipino.

We can all admit, she is not the best speaker of the batch, but every time she speaks no matter how simple and straightforward she answers questions, she gets the attention of everyone, she draws us in to what she has to say, and we still find ourselves applauding for her. Those are the characteristics of a true queen. I just love her!
The MUP organization, through its panel of judges, had once again failed in the selection of a qualified and rightful candidate that could possibly captured the elite 5th ms. universe international crown for the filipino people in particular and for the philippines in general. There are many qualified candidates in this batch '22 who has great and excellent commo. skills, the kind of quality that could paved the way in clinching the elusive universal crown in the world of pageantry.
