In today’s Pageant News Video we’ll talk about Cheslie Kryst tragic death. It was announced earlier today that the former Miss USA 2019 had been identified after jumping off the 9th floor of her residential building in New York City. Cheslie Kryst’s death has shocked the entire pageant community but also the entertainment industry of which she was also a part. Cheslie Kryst will always be remembered for her great accomplishments in life including her Miss USA 2019 journey and Miss Universe 2019 performance.

We also talk about how Destiny Wagner, the reigning Miss Earth 2021 faces and defended herself against some racist comments that were being spread online about her hair. Destiny has proven she is an empowered woman and that she will not let the ignorance of others diminish her light as she continues her very successful reign as the Miss Earth 2021 Titleholder.

Last but not least, Miss France has agreed to be more inclusive by removing age restrictions for their National Competition. A new limit has not been mentioned yet but we assume that women of all ages will be able to join. This also applies to women who are married and those who have kids. This was decided after Miss France faced intense backlash from feminist groups within the country because of their “discriminatory” policies.

  1. Yes, we should give Cheslie's demise the benefit of a doubt until investigation results are finalized. May I comment that beauty contests like most competitions, esp national and global – have been so commercialized that contestants are treated as commodities to be developed, consumed and discarded after the pageant, particularly if the candidate does not win as expected by organizers, sponsors, host countries, fans, etc. Talent managers merely focus on improvement of face and figure, lend designers' dresses, and train for Q and A proficiency. Whether win or lose, candidates' level of maturity, emotional, mental, spiritual aspects are ignored. As young adults, these girls/ ladiesare undergoing tremendous sociocultural challenges. No wonder there are several beauty queens who turned up as trophy wives or partners of politicians, gangsters & tycoons. They can also become victims of crazy stalkers. Many – if not – all beauty queens get depressed when they don't win as expected or are immersed in limitless activities after winning. Failure to cope results in gradual depression and other disorders which may lead to more long-term life failures and even death like the suicide of one Miss Venezuela, who was unplaced in 1981 after she succeeded the first Venezuelan crowned as 1980 MU. Can we still make beauty contests as beds of roses for beauty contestants – whether win or lose? Big deal!

  2. This so sad social media sometimes becomes toxic that affects our mental health because it made us question ourselves are we not enough? Basing Mostly on our physical or when we merely expressing our feelings and thoughts.
Just like what happened to Rabiya Mateo during the miss universe pageant.

  3. Sometimes, a person has a tendency to pretend and to hide what he or she truly feels inside, while showing the entire world the other side and make them think that you're truly strong and amazing. But the truth is, you're tearing apart and breaking down until the truth will push you to the limit and, even take your own life. You have to really validate what you truly feels and what you're going through.
    So sad.😩

  4. It is so sad about Cheslie so, so sad. Just to mention something about Miss Earth, I would not call them racist but more uneducated jealous idiots. I'm caucasian and Destiny was my favorite to win from the beginning. I rooted for her from the very first time I saw her glam picture. Using the term "racism" always comes down as white people who do these horrible things. But let me tell you, someone (close to me who also happens to be white) participated in a pageant and actually won the national title, but she was so brutally attacked on social media that she lost interest before competing internationally. Thereafter she took a vow that she would not give anyone the power or advantage ever again to judge her. Beauty is cruelty, make no mistake about it. Unfortunately, faceless people with no guts rule the internet and social media.

  5. I LOVED HER CHESLIE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!! ITS THE BEST HAIR ON THE PLANET FOR SURE!!!!!!! THEY CAN DO ANYTHING WITH THIER HAIR, THEY CAN MAKE THIER HAIR BONE STRAIGHT . AND THEN CURLY, THEN SEXY AND NAPPY WHICH ITS SEXY AND EXOTIC' ITS JUST PURE JEALOUS THAT IT!!!!!!!!!BECAUSE THEY CANT DO THAT?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. FOUL PLAY PERIOD NOTES DEAD GIVE A WAY!!!! FIRST THING WE HEAR WE BELIEVE? BECAUSE SHE SAID COULD MEAN ALOT OF THINGS? COME ON! SAD I HOPE THEY LOOK WAY MORE IN THIS CASE?

  7. Another example that teach us that we need to know our own selves better, what are own capacity, worth and purpose. Always surrounds our selves with good people that advise us how to love ourselves and teach us how to live with fruitful lives. If our own family not surrounds us everytime there is God above always present to lift us and one call away He always there beside us. Life is a precious present that gave us by God we should always thankful and cherrish it always. Only God can take away the life He lend to us. He gave His only son and died for us. Therefore, no need to sacrifice our own life for pleasure to ourselves or even others. Nowadays, social media is giving us so much pleasure but we should limit ourselves to avoid the great influence that most often we are lossing our own identity. If you are influencer like Ms Cheslie seek God first before anthing else that this world will offer to you.

  8. Does it come as any surprise that most black pageant winners experience online racial abuse? It's time that we come to terms that most of the world is antiblack because America is antiblack. Other countries globally watch what America does and they follow suit.

  9. Destiny is very beautiful, powerful and so smart. She knows how to carry herself with finesse and professionalism. Luis, you are such a wonderful human being.Thank you!!! As a Fil-AM, you deserve to be commended.
