The very day that Britain has its hottest ever day, which is being widely linked to climate change, many fires start across the country, but chiefly around the capital. These are also blamed on climate change. It is more likely that they were started deliberately. Is this the work of environmentalists such as Extinction rebellion?..(read more at source)

  1. We've had fires here all summer. Happens every year especially in hot weather. The only difference this year is the media are reporting it. I Don't trust extinction rebellion but most people involved do care about the environment and are unlikely to go round burning woodland and grasslands down. Total nonsense

  2. Itโ€™s real itโ€™s happening no time for suspicion no rain to dampen the ground day after day have you seen the size of the sun right up close in our face when I was a kid at school the sun was yellow this right now is a furnace who knows maybe a few nuclear leaks here and there have brought it too this I donโ€™t know but take care โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

  3. It seems that our services canโ€™t cope when its too hot or too cold. Regarding the fires just remember that people are stupid ! Its that simple. Ive just got back from Crete and its hot there for monthโ€™s and they cope

  4. Don't worry guys soon there will be a new vax for climate change. Remember always keep up to date with your boosters to protect grandma from burning to death when she's walking the dog.

  5. There were fires the day before but the media didn't make much fuss but the Tuesday stepped up to another level. The wind was very strong, very hot and the humidity plummeted to 14% which dried out vegetation like nothing I''ve ever seen before ( and I do just remember 1976). By all means debate the reasons behind the weather but be careful not to deny what we all saw and felt. The air was so dry that it dried your mouth and nose and eyeballs out (if you were in the areas of the country concerned). Yes, I'd say 99% of the fires were farm machinery, arson or careless people. The reason you've never seen whole streets go up like this…..there have never been conditions in the UK like those on Tuesday in recorded (weather) history before.

  6. I,'ll give up my car at once and buy a blanket for the winter. Like fxxx. Live in the NW only see the sun twice a year want my money back they promised med like temp in the 90s and an ice age in the 70s. Like I saw on tic toc recently only thing that's come true is govt. Using these predictions as an excuse to raise taxes.

  7. Typically arson where I live paired with the farmers paying kids/relatives to go burn the cut hay so they can get planting quicker

  8. Things are dry to a long warm summer with little rain. So things will catch fire easier if accidentally or on purpose are set alight. It's not rocket science but is sod all to do with global warming.
And to show those who don't believe in global warming that they aren't alone, neither do I.

  9. How many people through cigarettes out of car windows & aren't used to/ taking account of the exceptionally dry conditions? In every supermarket now there is a pallet of disposable barbecues anyone can buy for about ยฃ2 each which is asking for trouble.
