Title: Perfect for super sensitive skin!
Review: As someone with rosacea (type 1) and very sensitive, dry skin, what I like most about this moisturizer is what’s NOT in it. I want moisturizer that simply moisturizes my skin, without any fancy add-ons that my skin can’t tolerate. I’ve been amazed at how hard it is to find an effective moisturizer that’s not stuffed with fragrance, essential oils, botanical extracts, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and other ingredients my skin can’t tolerate. Enter this little gem. It makes my skin feel so soft and smoothe, but without any irritating ingredients. Yes, it is a bit pricey for the amount, but worth it for me and they have sales frequently. I will say that it is not quite moisturizing enough on its own for my dry skin (I know they have a balm version, but it has shea butter and that makes my skin break out if I use too much of it), so I layer an occlusive sunscreen on top of it in the AM, and I use their barrier cream (Cicafalte) on top in the PM, and it’s perfect. Since this product has such a simple ingredient list, it’s also great to use with actives (I currently have a prescription rosacea cream that includes azelaic acid). I will definitely be ordering more of this in the future!

Review: Dr. Valie recommended Eau Thermale Avene Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream as the fourth step in my skin care regimen, to use twice a day right after a hyaluronic acid serum. It calms down the redness and any discomfort stirred up by the acid and it mitigates the rosacea which troubles my fair skin. Cool, soothing, and moisterizing! I love it.Just from a photo my out-of-town sister noticed the change in my skin after using this new routine a short time. She asked for the same for her birthday, too.Dr. Valie said, “If you love the changes in your skin after just a few weeks, wait till you see it after 4 months!” She was right. Eau Thermale Avene Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream is a critical step in the process and I won’t be without it now.

Review: EDIT 2:So Paula’s Choice Calm Cream broke me out and I had to go back to this. I ended up just using more of it, which isn’t too cost effective but I moved to a warmer climate and now I use it for when my skin has a dry period (say before my monthly) and this finally works well again. My main cream now is the Hey Honey cream since we’re in the summer now (it can be a little drying compared to this) and the Avene cream when Ineed extra moisture.EDIT:I found that in winter, this cream wasn’t moisturizing enough and my skin would start to dry up, itch, and cause me to start flaring up due to the dryness. I found that Paula’s Choice Calm cream works better for me in this regard. So if you’re pretty dry skinned, I’d skip this entirely.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have rosacea and dry, highly sensitive skin. The only cream that my skin tolerates so far is the Tatcha Indigo cream, which is HELLA expensive. I was using the balm version of this but that didn’t moisturize my skin enough and eventually the dryness was causing my skin to flare up. I use this cream in combination with the balm and I no longer need to search for creams. I am very happy with Avene, especially that it’s much cheaper than Tatcha. I have used the cream by itself and feel that it would work fine for dry skin. If you want to “seal” it, use the balm. But I really feel that it would moisturize enough for any skin type.

Review: I have recently been trialing some lotions & creams, my skin has become more sensitive. This is it, for me! I have a few red spots on face, I put on & no burning, not greasy, my red patches look better with ist application. I have tried luxurious products, more than double this price, so I think I’ve found what works for fair skin very dry patches, & red blotches, so I feel the price is not too bad. My skin feels absolutely soft. Non scented,I only used a small amount–pea sized, plenty for me, I hope it continues to manage my skin!
