A lot of people, mostly Filipinos know nothing about cultural appropriation and why black people are really protective and concerned about blackfishing. Hindi po ito simpleng "change of looks, so respect it" matter lamang. This is about the fact that the candidate, who is clearly not a black or doesn't have a trace of any black roots trying to imitate or trying to become a black woman just because she is "morena". Sir/ma'am, we have to learn that there are boundaries between things that you should or shouldn't do as a morena that separates it from being black. Morena isn't equivalent to being black, and clearly the candidate isn't embracing her morena skin, but more on imitating a black woman. Again, this isn't just about "change of looks, so respect it". This is about racial matters that must be acknowledged and respected. I hope this clears something. Kahit maiitim ang ibang Filipino, hindi pa rin ito pwedeng gamitin para gayahin/kopyahin ang kultura at gawi ng mga black people. Again, there is a BIG difference betwwen morena and black.

OMG! if "retokada" girls can join beauty pageant why not a girl who colored her skin black? If transgender can join Ms. Universe which is an insult to the women population why not a girl who colored her skin black? And in all honesty she's prettier in black. I don't see anything wrong with that.
