Customers say
Customers appreciate the hair dryer’s value for money, drying power, and compact design. They say it gets the job done, dries hair well, and is pretty darn good for a portable dryer. However, some find the hose length too short and the cord too short. There are also complaints about the hose safety, with the hose easily detaching from the bonnet. Opinions vary on the heat level.

Title: This worked on my locs!
Review: I’ve only used this once since I purchased it, but it did exactly what I needed it to do. I read any and all reviews from users who had locs to get info on how it worked for them. And most of the reviews said it took a long time to dry, but that it worked. Well, now I can confirm!I have locs that are about 3ft long, and one of my main concerns when washing my hair is whether they’ll dry all the way through and how long it will take. So I’ll report on that for anyone else who may have the same questions.1) First I made sure to remove as much moisture from my hair (after washing and before twisting it) as possible, so that it wouldn’t get messy in the bonnet. I did have to get strategic on how I loaded my locs up into the bonnet once I was done twisting them though. I dried them in sections. I dried my scalp first, then put the rest of my locs in the bonnet to dry the middle sections and the ends. Then about every 30 minutes until fully dry, I would part my hair at different places to allow a different section of my hair to receive the maximum air flow and dry.2) It generally takes about 3-4 hours to dry my hair all the way through in a shop, and guess what? It took about 4 hours to dry my hair under this bonnet on Medium. And all of the things I did in the first section are all of the things I have to do when I’m under the shop dryer too. I mean, don’t get me wrong, 4 hours is a long time, but I put on two movies and by the time I finished the second movie, my hair was done. I was terrified that I’d be under there for 6+, so for me, this was a nice surprise.3) The dryer is loud. Maybe it’s because I read previous reviews that I wasn’t annoyed by how loud it was, but it was loud. I sometimes put the captions on on my TV, but I HAD to put the captions on if I wanted to know what they were saying in the movies. My dog didn’t care much for the noise either. But by the 2nd hour she got used to it to the point that she even fell asleep to the nice loud hum of the dryer. lolI didn’t take any pictures at the time, but I was surprised by how well my hair turned out. I think I was so tired by the time my hair was dry the I was just ready to go to bed (I washed my hair at night.. I won’t do that again). My old hair shop is now charging nearly $250 for wash and loc maintenance, which is just ridiculous. I know that I’m paying for the service of having someone else care for my hair and massage my scalp and all that, but the longest part of the whole service is mostly me sitting underneath the dryer. I spend about 1 hour at the wash bowl and in the service chair. The rest of that time is me sitting under the dryer for 3 hours. So, yes, I think this is ridiculous. Until I find another shop, I’ll have to find another way to treat myself to something nice and save myself $250. Or maybe I’ll just keep doing my own hair and find other ways to spend (save) that money. If I have any complaints at all, they don’t have anything to do with the actual dryer. The dryer cord is about 2 ft long. It would be nice if it was longer, but it’s doable. And besides being loud, my parted off locs weren’t as clean as when my hairdresser does it, but it wasn’t that far off though, and I’m hoping that I’ll get better at it the more reps I have at it.I’ll upload pictures next time I do my hair. I’m about 2 weeks out, so I’ll wait and take fresh pics next time.

Title: Works like a salon quality hairdryer
Review: I was pleasantly surprised with how well this tabletop, bonnet hair dryer worked. My hair is natural, meaning I donβt have a chemical relaxer. I rolled my hair on large plastic rollers and sat under the bonnet dryer on medium heat for 30 minutes. Then, I took the rollers out, used a brush to smooth my hair to lay flat around my head tgen put on a silk hair wrap and sat under the dryer for 15 minutes on high heat. High heat is intense, the dryer gets very hot.As you can see, my hair has plenty of body and movement and no frizz. I did not use a conditioner on my hair after washing with a cleansing shampoo and then a moisturizing shampoo. I only use one product called. MyWaterSolution by Tanya Does Hair, LLC. I did not use a heat protectant. The size is perfect to store under The bathroom sink. This product was a great value for the money as it works, as well as the more expensive hairdryers. There was a slight smell of offgassing plastic when you first open the box and take out the bonnet, but within an hour, the plastic smell left the bonnet. Thereβs no smell of burning hair when youβre using the product.I highly recommend this easy to use hair dryer.

Title: Finally able to replace my 35 year old soft bonnet dryer
Review: I am 69 and have med-long hair. I prefer to set my hair with those old style big wire rollers and put on a bonnet hairdryer. My other option when traveling which is often would be flat iron my hair. My hair is rather thick and flowing. Don’t ask me how, but my old dryer survived years however, I have had to wrap tears in the hose a few times and the bonnet was quite stretched. I’ve looked a long time for a replacement. Enter Gold N Hot to the rescue. The bonnet is just the right size, fits perfectly. I love how everything compacts into the case. Maybe I would like the hose a bit longer. It isn’t as steady when using and I turn my head, it will fall down so I either have to be mindful of not turning or just lie it flat, this is my least favorite thing about this dryer. Very annoying. I have to wedge it between a couple of things to stay in place. I usually use it watching TV or sitting at my desktop. Watching TV is difficult became this dryer is much louder than my old one. I really have to crank up the TV even with my ears outside of the bonnet, its hard. The good news is this dries my hair soooooooooooooo quickly, I’ amazed. I also need to run it low to medium as it does get very very hot. But I give it 5 stars. My hair does not frizz and comes out with nice waves.

Title: Best Deal EVER!!!!!! Wow, better quality than it appears or feels
Review: I have NOT written any reviews in a really long time. The truth is this feels and looks cheap when you remove it from the box and I would be willing to bet it would smash into bits if you dropped it. That being said, this is amazingly powerful, hot as you need (almost crazy hot at the highest level!) and perfect for drying locks (dreads), locks get moldy, stinky and buildup if you workout often and don’t fully dry and of course the lemon and other detox rinses mandate full drying which could take hours. This bonnet system is lightweight, compact, and way powerful. I can say the cold setting won’t work for me so I dry my locks in increments to avoid the high heat of the max setting which is super hot. There is absolutely no way any other dryer this price would be this effective? Maybe so, but I am very pleased with this. Again, it may not last forever but it’s so cheap I would just buy another one. But, I did also add on the ASSURION replacement insurance which I recommend for all the electronics on here anyway since it’s so inexpensive

Title: Gold and Hot bonnet hairdryer
Review: The dryer worked really well. My hair was dry in less than the usual hour and fifteen minutes. The only thing I am a little concerned about was the bottom of the dryer was really hot after using it. Will use it again in a couple of days and see if the dryer base becomes as hot.
