I will never forget the day I found out I was having a girl I said "I can never look in the mirror and say anything negative about myself ever again." Well, 5 years and another Daughter later I haven't always followed through on that but it's soooo important to me that they have good body image and self esteem. As their mom I feel like alot of it is up to me. I loved this advice of focusing on strength. Also the fact that just the level of engagement helps. Thanks for this!
When society constantly tells women that they are victims it's pretty hard to convince them that they're not. I expect that children today will grow up to be unconfident no matter what parents do.
Why not raise confident men. This society devalues men and puts women on a pedestal.
