this did not help what so ever!! I have judged b4 and am judging again after taking time off to compete myself and to be honest I feel as though she is not a very good source for this type of info. It seems like she's helping out those competing more than those judging. After winning my title I decided to become a professional judge for the state judges organization to make a difference for those who truly deserve title because so many out there are winning them when they are not ready.

There was a recent Miss USA pageant and the lead contestant was asked a horrible question, which I think had nothing to do with pageantry, nor the Miss USA brand and the judge was unqualified to even be on the panel.
Could the contestant have said something to the effect that she felt the question was not in good taste, gracefully?
First off, how can you judge beauty? Beauty should not be a competition. I believe this is where it starts…the self-consciousness of women beginning in their teen years. Or even worse, when they are children. Judging a beauty pageant is like judging art. Beauty is subjective. Strictly an opinion. Different perspectives. Everyone has their own beautiful, unique qualities. Everyone would win if I were a judge.

It's impossible to give general instructions on "How to Judge a Beauty Pageant" because there are so many different systems with different ages, requirements and areas of competition.
Are you referring to children's competitions, more well known programs, like Miss America or Miss USA or to some of the lesser known systems? Local, state or national pageant? Talent or not? Platform or not?
What are the contestants scored on? And how? You simply can't lump it all together.
