Title: Tactile luxury in a jar.
Review: I love a good oil cleanser. I also love clean formulations. This Active Algae Calming Cleansing Balm by Kora Organics caught my eye for its “green” agenda, and I am glad it did.This cleansing balm is 100% certified organic and an absolute joy to use. One is guaranteed that they will end up with a clean face, because this stuff feels so lavish on the skin, I did not want to stop caressing it over my face. It rinses cleanly and leaves me with a softer, well hydrated complexion that is always less red (from rosacea) after using it.The first couple times after cleansing with this product, I double checked it’s efficiency with a cotton pad and toner. I could not find any residual makeup or gunk of any sort that was missed. So not only does it feel divine to use, it actually does leave my face clean, which I’ve noticed is not always the case with oil cleansers.There is no added fragrance so any scent from this cleanser comes from the natural ingredients in it. It smells mainly floral to me, but not overly sweet and there is some earthy mustiness in the base to balance out the floral.Currently this cleansing balm is selling at $24 for the 1 oz jar. It takes about a teaspoon or less for a thorough cleansing, which means that this small jar will wash my face about 8 times, maybe 10. Ouch! Yes, it’s expensive, but that is to be expected for an organic skin care product that is actually effective. At that price I do not know if I will be buying it again, but I would certainly recommend it for those with deeper pockets.

Title: Feels wonderful but not sure where this fits in my regimen
Review: I am not someone who revels in my skincare routine to the point that I can devote a ton of shelf space or time to it so I am having trouble finding where this slots in. I like that it comes with a spatula so you don’t have to dig it out with your fingers but it is inconvenient to use compared with other cleansers that can be kept in the shower or at least used without the extra step of using a separate tool.The results are great, though. I don’t usually have tons of layers to remove at the end of the day (I don’t use primers or setting spray or cosmetics designed specifically for long wear, for example) but I do use sunscreen and concealer, sometimes a mineral foundation too, and this leaves my skin feeling totally clean while still moisturized and soothed. I massaged it on without adding any water then washed it off and it felt very nice through the whole process, and I didn’t feel like I needed to follow up with an additional cleanser. I didn’t experience any irritation even using it around my eyes (although I don’t want to make it sound like it’s “no tears” baby shampoo- it should definitely be kept out of eyes).The scent is a bit earthy but not heavy- it still smells fresh and clean. The amount you get is a reasonable value. I will come back to this from time to time, it’s just not going to be my go-to due to my preference for liquid or bar cleansers over this type of balm.

Title: I would give this 10 stars if I could!
Review: This has quickly become my favorite facial cleanser! I have been working to take better care of my skin and enjoy switching up the products I use from time to time. I am in my 40’s and have noticed that cleansers can really dry my skin out. I travel to various climates for work and really struggle keeping my skin properly hydrated and avoiding redness. This cleansing balm is fantastic! My sensitive skin was calm and smooth after using this product.The cleansing balm comes in a lovely glass jar. When I first opened the cleansing balm, I was a little surprised at how dry it seemed but it was creamy when I applied it to my skin. I immediately noticed that after rubbing the cleansing balm into my skin and rinsing, my skin felt soft. My skin didn’t have that overly tight feeling I get with other cleansers. This cleansing balm left my skin hydrated and did not cause any redness. I have been using this nightly for about a week now and I am hooked! It has really helped calm my sensitive skin and is definitely a cleanser I will purchase again.
