Title: Very vibrant ❤️
Review: I box dyed my hair red about a month ago, but it quickly faded. Decided to take a chance on this one, and it worked amazingly. I was worried at first I wouldn’t have enough product but I had enough to really saturate my whole head.

Title: RED for sure!!! NO BLEACH NEEDED
Review: Love love love this product. I’ve been using this brand and color “Red” for over 4 years. No bleach needed, just the dye and developer! My hair only needs 1 tube of dye but it is thinner. I also use 30-40 developer to make it brighter.I also want to add that this dye does not make my hair dry or stiff! It actually makes it so much more softer! – I only wash my hair in COLD water 1x a week for long lasting results! I usually get it from Sally’s Beauty but Amazon had it it as a 2 pack, which is no longer the case now. I still recommend this brand hair dye and shade of red! It’s gorgeous!

Title: Best for dark hair lifting!
Review: I have naturally dark dark brown curly hair. I have been using L’Oreal hi color on and off for years. This is magenta with a 30 volume developer and dying was about 2 weeks ago for first picture. Still so vibrant. Didn’t damage my hair.

Title: Fantastic, bright highlights for brunettes
Review: About my hair before highlighting:I keep my hair in a pretty short inverted bob with blunt bangs. I’d been dying my hair black for years using brands like Feria. I decided about 6 months ago that I wanted to go back to red hair, so I tried Feria Violet Soft Black as a transition color, lightening the shades of red as my hair grew out. Big surprise, it didn’t really work out that well. Just prior to using the L’Oreal Hicolor for the first time, I had some pretty serious gray roots, which I was really concerned about turning pink. After reading the various reviews on here, and then checking out a few red hair websites, I decided to try my hand at doing my own professional color using L’Oreal Hicolor Magenta Highlights.Materials used:L’Oreal Hicolor Magenta Highlighter (1.2 oz)L’Oreal Level 30 Developer (2.4 oz)Neutral Protein Filler (1.2 oz)Rubber glovesA smockHair color mixing bowl (Sally Beauty has nice bowl that are marked by ounces and have a brush “strainer” at one end – cost ~$3)Hair color application brushHair color mixing wandCombTube of Eucerin Aquaphor moisturizerDisposable shower capThe Process:I put on the smock and rubber gloves, then used the Aquaphor to protect any skin that I didn’t want to get stained by hair dye. (Note: This stuff is not nearly as bad as Manic Panic when it comes to mess and staining! In fact, it is not all that messy, in my opinion, especially when compared to Manic Panic!) To be safe, since I’d just moved into my house, I also put a tarp down, but I didn’t get any dye on the floor.I blended together the HiColor Magenta, Level 30 Developer, and Protein Filler in the color mixing bowl using the mixing wand/color brush. It took about 15-20 minutes to get fully blended. NO JOKE. The resulting mixture was much more “watery” than store bought boxed hair colors, but not as messy as demi-permanent dyes, like Manic Panic.Since my roots were gray, and the Developer lightens hair, I started with the darkest part of my hair and worked up toward my roots. I used the comb to periodically make sure the dye was equally distributed through my hair. It took about 20 minutes to apply the dye. I had leftover dye, since my hair isn’t very long. I washed it down the sink.I put on a shower cap and left the dye in for an hour. After an hour, I showered, rinsing the dye from my hair. The instructions tell you to shampoo and condition, which I did using TIGI Bed Head Re-Energize Shampoo and Conditioner in cool water. The Results:GORGEOUS bright, deep magenta hair. Just lovely. The original plan was to do the Hicolor as “Step 1” and then deepen the color using Manic Panic before going back to work after the holiday, but the color was so awesome and I got so many compliments from total strangers, that I kept it. It worked in my favor, too, as I ended up being sent to meet a potential client in Atlanta, who loved me (and my hair!). They ended up signing on with my company and bringing me down for some work in January. I did a second application of Hicolor Magenta in December and then mixed Manic Panic Vampire Red with Ultra Violet in January (resulting in a beautiful “boysenberry” color, however it was a pain to apply, and made a total mess in my bathroom… and on hotel towels for weeks afterward). The biggest concern I had was my gray roots. Do your darkest hair first, leave the gray for last. It definitely comes out a bit pink, but results in a very cool gradient-like effect. Also, to make it last, wash in the coldest water you can handle and use color-friendly products.

Title: If you have dark hair and don’t want to bleach, but this!
Review: I have used this repeatedly without having to bleach my hair and it is always bright and I always receive compliments. I’ve always loved shades of red but was scared of bleach. When I once did bleached highlights my hair was so brittle, I swore to never do it again. L’Oreal was the answer. I recommend all the time.

Title: An absolute must
Review: The only dye that gave me the color I want. My pillow cases are happy because it does not bleed. This will be the only dye I buy from now on. An absolute must.

Review: I was surprised that it’s work for dark hair. For my case I used 20% developer Loreal, and pack of 3 hicolor Magenta. The result is amazing, without any black spots. So totally recommend it)

Review: When this product said it was meant for dark hair, it wasn’t lying. I used a 20 volume developer instead of the recommended 30 volume developer and left it on for the suggested time.(In the after pictures, I got a trim and layers.)However, I didn’t realize my natural hair color is too light for this dye, which is why it came out looking so light and orange (not copper).I started the application from top to bottom, and the top section processed a lot more than the rest of my hair because of the heat from my scalp and running out of dye for the bottom layer of my hair.In conclusion, the two words of advice I’d give is obvious: this dye is meant for DARK HAIR (as stated on the bottle), and if you have thick, long hair, you’ll need an extra bottle or two. I overestimated the amount of dye and ran into that issue, but managed to cover the bottom layer just enough for it to blend in as one color; it definitely is darker compared to the top though. But it was the best I could do.

Review: This is really good and the colour is really bright, you don’t need bleach at all even if your hair is black or dark brown. The red lasted in my hair for about 2 years (since 2022 and it’s 2025 now, and there’s a little bit left to fade). Would highly recommend if you don’t want to bleach your hair and want a bright colour without lots of chemicals and processing
