Transgender woman wins Miss Nevada USA pageant, making history
A transgender woman has been crowned Miss Nevada USA — for the first time in the pageant’s history. Kataluna Enriquez, 27, who only began competing last year in cisgender pageants, was named the winner Sunday in the competition at the South Point hotel-casino in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. She beat out 21 other candidates to represent Nevada at the Miss USA pageant that will be held on Nov. 29, the outlet reported.

Transgender woman wins Miss Nevada USA, a 1st in pageant’s history
For the first time in the pageant’s history, the title of Miss Nevada USA has been won by a transgender woman. Kataluna Enriquez was crowned the winner Sunday at the South Point hotel-casino in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old Enriquez won the Miss Silver State USA pageant in March, a preliminary competition for the Miss Nevada USA pageant. She beat 21 other candidates to represent Nevada in the Miss USA pageant that will be held on Nov. 29. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Enriquez first took part in transgender pageants in 2016 when she was working as a model.

Well, she's incredibly good looking; she meets every conventional beauty standard. In this day and age, genetic females aren't really into expressing hyperfemininity — and to be totally honest — it seems like trans-women are stepping up to fill that void. I can't help but admire her.

I don't have an issue with transgender or ladyboys. Plenty of them in Asia, some I got to know and talk to, nice people. When it comes to the pageants, the West are handling it so badly. They are catering to the 0.2% like crazy and putting on an equal stance as women. In Thailand, they are entirely seperate. The ladyboys have their own pageants, and they are for the most part more attractive physically than the females.
I think only those who are passable, or are very feminine can represent the transgenders. And also let them have their own pageant in the West, like how it is in Asia.
