Title: Love it
Review: I’m 5’3″, aprox 140lbs, 38-29-40, 32F bra. I purchased a size 12. It arrived in exactly a week. The dress was lovely. I would buy from this seller again. All of the girls at prom who spent $700 on their dresses could not believe I found this gem on Amazon for under $200. The only problems I had with this dress were entirely personal and forseeable because I am a picky short hourglass. I think that if you love this dress as much as I did and the only thing holding you back from buying it is the lack of reviews, you should throw caution to the wind and order it. The dress was about 4-5in too long, which I was expecting because I am considered petite. The dress had excess material bunch at the waist, which I again expected because of my chest to waist ratio. I did have the dress altered and it was a completely awful experience and waste of money, but it’s okay because my dress was still very beautiful and no amount of crooked hemming could change that. The dress does not look like the advertised picture and I was completely okay with that because I feel that what I received was more unique. The slip is more gold than nude. There are four layers: two soft gold slips and 2 mesh layers. Up close the decaling is a bit old ladyish or vintage, whichever term you prefer. The neckline of the sheer decaling goes to my collar bones. The plunging neckline of the slip goes a little past where a normal bra band at the front is. I purchased a clear straped and backless bra from Amazon and taped my chest in. The back of the dress to the waist is sheer with decaling all over it. Sheer enough that you could see my bra band through it when I tried to wear a normal bra, but has enough rhinestones (?) on it that you couldnt see my horrendous tan lines. The sleeves are absolutely beautiful, but were bigger on me than I had liked. If you find a good seamstress, it shouldn’t be a problem to fix them. The zipper in the back is not obnoxiously noticeable and goes down to the top of my bum where it gets stuck in the same place everytime I zip it up. Jimmy it a little and you’ll be fine. The dress itself is timeless and I felt like the belt was a good idea, but did not go with the dress. I cut it off and wore a belt I purchased from Amazon. I think that this dress can be worn by any age. If you’re worried about modesty, I’m sure you could find a tanktop to wear underneath. Or if you’re more talented than me (and the seamstress I paid a leg and an arm for) you could probably sew something to be more conservative.

Title: Baggy sleeves, needed help with it
Review: This was so uncomfortable. The sleeves were very baggy and needed altered. The lace-up back took forever and I needed help getting it both on and off. Not a dress I’d wear more than once, sorry. I couldn’t wait to be done with it.

Title: Stunning!
Review: I was looking for an elegant vintage look and was concerned that the beading would look cheap. This gown did not disappoint. The back is out at the top, so you can’t wear a bra. But, the support comes from the way you tie up the dress like a corset. It pulls in the waist as well. It dies run a little small. I’m a 16 (and ordered an 18 because of the reviews) which was perfect. Anything bigger than that will cause you to lose the support. Also, I dress modestly so be forewarned that the cleavage shows your breasts clearly with the thin netting in the front. So you would need to put something to thicken that small area; a scare made of the netting came with the dress so I’m getting someone to alter. The dress is a dream and I can’t wait to glam up with a Hollywood hairdo and attend my big event. You can’t beat the quality for this price. It’s a must have!!

Title: Jaw dropping gorgeous (but very small)
Review: Reviewing the Meier gold red Illusion Long Sleeve Embroidery Formal. Absolutely beautiful! Pretty well made. I had a lot of compliments even from strangers! My normal size is an 8…the guidance on Amazon said a 10 should fit me best. I purchased a 12 which was snug but a pretty good fit. I did some altering: The lacing up the back is problematic if you don’t have a hand-maiden, lol. I put a zipper in the underlying panel so it would be neatly closed before I sought out a neighbor to finalize the ties. I also added fusible interfacing to the ties to give them more substance. It significantly improved the quality look! Finally, I hemmed the dress as I was wearing it to a ballroom dancing event. It was overall too long and dipped even lower in the back. Very dangerous if you plan to dance ;-). The advertising says “dry clean” but the tag says do not dry clean and do not wash…only spot clean (very odd). It is polyester so I am reasonably sure you can hand wash.

Title: Color and sizing were way off
Review: Pretty dress…I ordered 2 sizes up based on reviews and it still wasn’t right! Ran extremely small. I am an 8-10 & ordered a 12…& it fit like a 6-8! I’m 5’4”, 152 lbs. the gold wasn’t really the champagne antique gold in the picture—it was more rose gold and looked bad with my skin tone.

Title: Best dress ever!
Review: This was perfect for my second wedding. I didn’t want to wear ivory. Gold was the best choice! It was too long for me, and I spent $150 having it shortened and adding a bustle. But I didn’t pay $1K for a wedding dress and was able to go on a wonderful honeymoon with the money we saved!

Title: Gorgeous Dress! Many will think it cost Thousands.
Review: This dress! The extraordinary jeweled and floral embroidered pattern blends tremendously well with the overall gold look. As I walked throughout the venue you where we were having our vow renewal/wedding, people kept stopping me… Gasping… saying you look absolutely stunning and My My My – where in the world did you get that dress??? Can you tell me if you do not mind -where did you get that stunningly gorgeous dress??? Some would say breathtaking. I felt like a queen. This dress was everything. I am 5’4″ tall. Of course I hate that I am about 170lbs – so a Size 12 (I hate putting that out there yet to help someone else. They did not have a size 14 when I ordered yet the size 12 served well. I am very hippy. If you are between 170lbs -180lbs perhaps a size 12 yet a size 14 would be safer). Oh by the way…someone was bold enough to provide a guesstimation/estimation of cost of the dress – I simply said it was under $200 and they thought I was kidding. Kept insisting it had to be a higher cost. This is a great high end dress no matter the cost. GORGEOUSNESS!! Just Gorgeous. I am so glad I found this dress for my Vow Renewal/Wedding. So Happy!!!
