Really love the sequins and sparkles on evening gowns in the ‘80s.,Big shoulder pads not so much. Miss the ‘80s I was in my late teens early 20sat this point. Had great fun and memories. Vanessa Williams was really tested like crap Gavin to resign in July 1984 just 2 months away from crowning her successor UTAH’s Sharlene Wells Miss America 1985. Suzette Charles did that as she was Miss America ‘’84 for 2 months. Then some 32 years later they had the Gaul to apologize at the Miss America 2015 live to her for the embarassement caused her in 1984. Like 32 years later?? Really ??? On live Tv. Well she went on to have a very successful recording career in R & B/Soul & pop crossover releasing her first album in 1988. Also a career in Tv motion pictures. She will ALways be Miss America 1984. Suzette Charles was a fill in although she was also a very pretty lady herself.
