Not the best overall talent … but Miss WV was sure entertaining!!
Toni Seawright rocked it! Rocked it big time!
with the best gown, good not great talent, and prelim ss, sc should have been top 10. ga gown had to have hurt her. it was awful!

Nebraska 🤍
Night three….Georgia – WOW and I agree, don’t understand how she didn’t make top 10. Same for SC…..that gown – OMG.
I understand that the crowd gasped when she turned revealing that back!
WI the clear winner but GA really had it all. Ohio – very good singer but an awful orginak version of that classic song. Scat does NOT belong in that song.
Night two: the dancers namely ND and Or were excellent. I think NC was better than the winner, NV. Maine was excellent but I think the winner should have been Colorado. Good thing Kaye Lani changed her routine at MAP because her routine at state was awful. MN was not good for sure, but that had to do with the key she chose or perhaps chosen for her.
Night one. LA not the best, good but not the best. OK was good but changing the words to that great song just didn’t work.
The best in my view….New York with Illinois a close second. MS was good as well along with WV.

THAT'S MY LITTLE SIS'TA!!! MISS OREGON!
LOts of great talent on the stage this year, and yet, so many of these ladies didn't get to the top ten. The reason is, the total score a contestant receives, between talent, swimsuit and evening gown, as well as private interview, may not give her one of the top ten highest scores, and yet scored high in talent. Hence, because she didn't get to the top ten, that contestant received one of the eight highest scores of those not in the top ten, making a her a non finalist talent award winner.
I agree with the others when they mentioned Kelly Jerles (GA). she was incredible.
heh you dont have dance trained like that anymore, in theatrical and that style of jazzy dance, the ladies that performed at this time period were still from the time period one could have learned tap and theatrical dance as well as ballet from someone that was from that first great musical generation, or might have performed in vaudeville, you dont have that anymore, they are either too old or long gone, and its sad, it was a part of our entertainment culture as it was really starting to get going and be shown with musicals, movies and tv, and the jazzy style dance that could still be seen in the 1980's movie dances and pop music shows on tv, like American bandstand, and dance party usa, and that more playful and inventive hoofing style tap, that just is not taught like it used to be, and tap has gone to the wayside in popularity to hiphop and contemporary or acro today, and often the technique is great but lacks refined emotion in the dance, looks mechanistic too often especially in ballet aside the Russians or maybe some of the places that do Balanchine's style.
tell you one thing Miss Rylee Miss Missouri could sure dance, even did a moonwalk in pointe shoes and did it well, too many today try to moonwalk en pointe and dont bend their feet enough or look like they are wiping their toes, and she had on a semi hot looking black costume with sequined pointe shoes or maybe the rare by this time leather pointe shoes and some really expressive dancing of several styles.
the first baton spinner was also really good, there are not many baton twirlers like there used to be anymore, and her style also typeifys that jazzy style of dance as well that I was referring to although also very acrobatic or like you see in fitness competitions when they show them on tv though not like they used to on espn 2 or the strongman competitions like they did in the late 1990's I liked this though it is aged a bit, and is very 80's with the big puffy as a poodle hair, back before all the political bull of today, back when the miss america performances were still the traditional miss america, I mean yea its a bit objectifying, but they are supposed to be a total package of beauty, poise, and ambition a lady for the girls to look up to as a model citizen, and a way to get money for collage, which the miss america org is the largest woman's scholarship provider in the nation or at least used to be.
Great talents this year! Even the monologue with the british accent was good. BUT, stop talking about how great Marjorie Vincent played, because Maria Kim Miss WI was 200% better, I mean WOW! SC was a very average pianist- I can see why she was held back. GA- she could have been close. Someone was 11th. I would have given talent to LA night one, CT night two, WI night three. Swimsuit night one GA, night two- I prefer LA over SC, night three MI.
Any more pageants?
The year where nobody would have disputed a top 20 just for talent alone.
Still a head scratcher how Kelly Jerles and Nancy Humphries misses the top 10.😳😳
Patricia Brant and Toni Seawright were the best! Although Kaye Lani Rae Rafko was wonderful too.
Thank you so much for posting the talents from this year. I don’t have a copy of this. Love it ! Looking forward to more. Keep it up!! Need to send you some of my pageant DVDs. 👍❤️
Kelly Jerles, Miss Georgia… Wow!! She won special talent award for her performance
Best talent year ever.
