  1. “Unfortunately Miss America 1993 Leanza Cornett just Passed She suffered head trauma when she fell inside her home 😔 So Sad when Regis had passed the middle part of this year Leanza was only 49 years old so young RIP Leanza June 10th, 1971- October 28th, 2020🙏🏽🕊

  2. Leanza needs our prayers right now. She is currently in critical condition after slipping in her kitchen and hitting her head October 12, 2020. Ten days later she is still in critical condition, in ICU, unresponsive. She had surgery several days ago to stop the brain bleed. (I'm not a spokesperson for the family…just a prayerful friend from years and years ago. But I just had to share this with anyone who might view this video.)

  3. Leanza captured the crown without winning any preliminary nights {i.e. swimsuit, talent, or evening gown}! That's pretty amazing considering most winners win at least one or more prelims before the final nite of competition! The judges must've seen a drive in her on that final night that couldn't be denied nor could her appeal which she used to full advantage!

  4. A friend of mine and I met Leanza in Dallas at Foley's Valley View and we were so impatient we ended up marching up and bugging her while she was shopping in the hosiery department. Before her appearance! Very nicely, her chaperone told us we needed to hold our horses and then we could get her autograph and take all the pictures we wanted. Remember that, Larkin?

  5. Leanza, you're wonderful and such a role model! I competed at the state level in MAO recently and I just found out that I had the same talent song as you, "A New Life". Your performance with the song was flawless, I'm going to be re-watching and re-watching it to learn as much as I can from you! 🙂

  6. I love the fact that Leanza is actually replying to the comments! I remember that night she won! I was jumping up and down and I didn't even know her! But she was my hometown girl!!! The first Miss Florida to ever win the title… And very much deserved!

  7. I was one of her hosts in Chicago.  Such an intelligent, mature, gracious, savvy person.  Gave wonderful speeches, was particularly good with children, always energetic and ready to go, a very practical person on top of all that.  Not a phony bone in her body and we all knew she would continue on to even more success.

  8. I wish Miss America contains 50 states only except Puerto Rico, and District of Columbia, without Bikinis, only is Catalina one piece swimsuit will be move back to NBC.
