Regarding Tara Holland's comments on ending funding for the National Endowment for the Arts- I'm a classically trained professional musician, and I find it troubling that Mrs.Tara Holland Christensen would hold this opinion, and I am disappointed that the preliminary judges didn't challenge her on it. If I had been a preliminary judge that year, my question to her following that comment would have been, "So, the National Endowment for the Arts gives out grants to artists, writers and non profit groups, who, on their own, would never be able to reach a wide, national audience due to a lack of funding and exposure for their art and platform. Why should we crown you Miss America so that your platform of illiteracy can be magnified and realized when you don't support the same dreams and goals for others being recognized and funded for their craft through the National Endowment for the Arts?
It was a COMPLETE TRAVESTY that Jamie Bolding, Miss Florida was not in the semifinals. She was robbed!
