I remember the day after the pageant they showed pictures of her and runner up Suzette Charles as friends but when Suzette was given the crown, she snubber Vanessa. Well where is Ms. Charles now. Suzette who….. Vanessa had the last laugh in the end, she is just too much of a class act to laugh
As bad as it was, I have to agree that it helped her. Good or bad–publicity is publicity. Of course, she's talented, beautiful and smart–she has all that, but we all know it takes a little more than that to be noticed in the business. This definitely got her noticed.
Besides, up to now they still consider her as 'Miss America 1984'. Miss Charles, her runner up, is under the label 'Miss America 1984b'–don't believe me? Check for yourself. If I'm not mistaken, VW still has her crown too.
