Recently, a photo of Miss Iraq, Sarah Idan, has gone viral on social media, sparking controversy and threats against her life. The photo in question shows Idan posing alongside Miss Israel, Adar Gandelsman, at the Miss Universe pageant.
The photo, which was taken in November 2017, quickly stirred up a storm of backlash in Idan’s home country of Iraq. Many saw the photo as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and a violation of the Arab boycott against Israel. Idan was accused of being a traitor and an enemy of the state. She received numerous death threats and her family was forced to flee the country for their own safety.
Idan, who is a humanitarian and advocate for peace, has explained that the photo was meant to promote unity and understanding between people of different backgrounds. She has expressed regret that the photo has been misconstrued and has caused harm to her and her family.
The incident has once again highlighted the delicate and complicated political situation in the Middle East, where tensions run high between Israel and many Arab countries. Idan’s experience serves as a stark reminder of the risks that individuals face when they dare to challenge the status quo and advocate for peace and reconciliation.
Despite the dangers she faces, Idan remains committed to her goal of promoting tolerance and understanding between people of different cultures and backgrounds. She continues to use her platform to speak out against hatred and violence, and to advocate for peace and unity in the region.
The photo that put Miss Iraq’s life in danger serves as a sobering reminder of the power of social media to both unite and divide. It is a stark example of the challenges that individuals face when they dare to challenge the norms and speak out against injustice. Miss Iraq’s bravery and resilience in the face of adversity serves as an inspiration to us all.

Yeah, all of you ppl commenting about her face are such jerks! Seriously tho, what happened to her mug? For educational purposes.
So hilariously out of touch to say that "we are ambassadors for peace" … no, you are beautiful women living life on EZ mode. And no, taking a selfie together is not going to change centuries of conflict. Adults with child brain.
“We don’t want to get you in trouble” says everything.
Israel 🇮🇱
God bless the ppl of Iran. I hope u will be soon free from ur tyranical government. Peace to the middle east. Shalom Aleychem. Asalam Aleychum ❤

Yo Miss Israel 🇮🇱 IS Banggin!!! It's wild how pretty she is/ was!
She no longer represents Iraq, not with those botox injection lips of hers.
Two beautiful people, inside and out.
Iraq…ambassadors for peace.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Said no1 EVER except her
Israel's problems are existential. They are happy to embrace any Arab nation as peaceful friends and partners. At this point, even Jordan and Egypt are letting Israel solve it's own conflict with Iran. Likely both those Arab countries are sick and tired of Iran trying to disrupt the stability of all of those countries along with Saudi Arabia.
She's not even that nice there has yo be a better looking women in iraq
I like your old lips. Keep your natural beauty.
Common sense
Iraqis not an Arab country.
What a heart and a clear mind!
Her face is really f#cked up and duh she knows why Isreal didnt talk to her wtf what an act. Islamic peoples know how relations are between them and Jews come the f#ck on.
The world is not a person.
Free Palestine.
Her face looks very different. Are you sure that’s the same woman?
Is there a part 2 for the love of everything holy for I'm hooked on this amazing story of courage, strength & women UNITING which we dnt do enuf sadly for we'd be fckng such an unstoppable force if we did, especially like the men do. Jst saying.
…theres a reason why there was never and a me Iraq. Its because they heavily believe there women are possessions and should always be coved up and never speak. Basically a walking cleaning flesh light.
If all Arabs would think like her we would have peace!!!
Crazy to see how plastic surgery can get you into a beauty pageant. 🤢
Amazing. They were thinking of each other with respect to cultural rules and peace.
Too much lip filler giving her a wonky mouth.
