Recently, a photo of Miss Iraq, Sarah Idan, has gone viral on social media, sparking controversy and threats against her life. The photo in question shows Idan posing alongside Miss Israel, Adar Gandelsman, at the Miss Universe pageant.

The photo, which was taken in November 2017, quickly stirred up a storm of backlash in Idan’s home country of Iraq. Many saw the photo as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and a violation of the Arab boycott against Israel. Idan was accused of being a traitor and an enemy of the state. She received numerous death threats and her family was forced to flee the country for their own safety.

Idan, who is a humanitarian and advocate for peace, has explained that the photo was meant to promote unity and understanding between people of different backgrounds. She has expressed regret that the photo has been misconstrued and has caused harm to her and her family.

The incident has once again highlighted the delicate and complicated political situation in the Middle East, where tensions run high between Israel and many Arab countries. Idan’s experience serves as a stark reminder of the risks that individuals face when they dare to challenge the status quo and advocate for peace and reconciliation.

Despite the dangers she faces, Idan remains committed to her goal of promoting tolerance and understanding between people of different cultures and backgrounds. She continues to use her platform to speak out against hatred and violence, and to advocate for peace and unity in the region.

  1. So hilariously out of touch to say that "we are ambassadors for peace" … no, you are beautiful women living life on EZ mode. And no, taking a selfie together is not going to change centuries of conflict. Adults with child brain.

  2. Israel's problems are existential. They are happy to embrace any Arab nation as peaceful friends and partners. At this point, even Jordan and Egypt are letting Israel solve it's own conflict with Iran. Likely both those Arab countries are sick and tired of Iran trying to disrupt the stability of all of those countries along with Saudi Arabia.

  3. Is there a part 2 for the love of everything holy for I'm hooked on this amazing story of courage, strength & women UNITING which we dnt do enuf sadly for we'd be fckng such an unstoppable force if we did, especially like the men do. Jst saying.

  4. …theres a reason why there was never and a me Iraq. Its because they heavily believe there women are possessions and should always be coved up and never speak. Basically a walking cleaning flesh light.
