The Miss Lebanon Beauty Pageant has returned after the event went on hiatus for the last three years.
i24News Middle East correspondent Sarah Chlala speaks to Laura Cellier how the event is helping the country heal both emotionally and economically.
“It is completely backed by the politicians. The government even wanted this event to go ahead, and even some politicians have spoken out prior to the event,” Chlala told i24NEWS.
“The event this year is a little bit different because it was held in collaboration with the tourism ministry who are sponsoring the event. It is part of a campaign to bring more tourists into the country,” she added.

as always . the most beautiful is never Chosen , and we end up participating in Miss world and Miss Universe without any result … while runner ups go to represent Australia and other countries and end up winning the title of 1st or 2nd runner up Miss world ( e.g. Jessica Kahawaty – Nicole Ghazal – Sabrina Houssami …. even Rima Fakih who lost in Lebanon but won the title of Miss USA ) .. it is always the sponsor who choses Miss Lebanon .
