It’s up! Miss Universe 2020 prediction video. You’ll have to listen closely, because not every girl I mentioned is in my top 21. If I say “maybe” or I had a “?” by her name, then she is not officially in my top 21. I watched the preliminary competition live and then made this video the very next day. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

MU THIS YEAR US VERY LAUZY

  8. Winner : Mexico, Andrea Meza
1st Runner Up: Brazil, Julia Gama
2nd Runner Up: Peru, Janick Maceta
    3rd Runner Up:India, Adline Castelino
    4th Runner Up: Dominican Republic

  9. After watching Miss Universe 2020 I don't understand many things…

    DIVERSITY and REPRESENTATION:
They deleted the continental top and didn't select african country, then only 2 countries from Europe in top 21. Only 1 asian (India) in the top 5. And then hello latinas
The positive aspect is that a lot of islands or little countries were in the top 21. But none of them has visibility because only the top 5 was heard. Maybe because the Covid. Injustice. We never heard the unqualified top 10 and top 21 like almost the other 74 contestants. For me they could only do the show with the 5 last finalists. Women's voices matter! Even in the preliminary no one cried for exemple: "NIA SANCHEZ, USA."
RIP the respect. Women ain't object. When Luis Fonsi performed the 5 finalists were just mannequins. They weren't here for that. The organisation forced them to play the bimbo whereas most of them wanted to prove they are intelligent.

    SPEECH:
Everybody cheer up for Peru and she ended up 2nd runner up… Even Olivia Culpo thought she made a mistake like Steeve Harvey with Pia from Philippines. Peru has the same aura we had with Zozi. She deserved the crown
Mexico wasn't good at english first. Her second speech in spanish was better. Unlike Dominican Republic, Mexico had a really good translator. Big injustice when we saw Dominican Republic's translator who could not even summ up the last part at first and then who translated badly all her 2nd speech. For each sentence even if she took time he failed. Horrible! It's eliminatory no matter your performance. Her destiny depended on a…man who isn't bilingual
If Australia was allowed to be a part of the top 5, she could kill it on scene. She militates for inclusivity and she's better than the co-hosts. And she's so lovely and funny in her stories.

    VOTES:
How is it made? Only judges voted till the end?
So Vietnam had the fan votes but she doesn't go in the top 10?
It means nothing but asian contestants had big followers on social media and the last winners of the IMG era were asian (except Iris Mittenaere). Even if I didn't support all of them I saw Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia or Thailand go further because of their communities.
For the top 5 they should only let the public decide 100%

    COMPETITIONS:
Why contestants can only compete once at Miss Universe or Miss World but many times for their country? I know Deshauna Barber tried several times in her state (7?) to be Miss USA and she won it once.
Then, as Catriona Gray, Andrea Meza the Miss Universe 2020 competed twice for her home country Mexico (2017 and 2020) and won them. As Catriona too, she made Miss World before Miss Universe. I don't like the fact you can switch the competition… It doesn't let a chance for other women.
For instance this year in the pageants Abena Akuaba of USA won Miss Grand International but she represented another country (Ghana) at Miss Universe 2014. So weird. I don't have a problem with the nationality in that case but I don't agree you can switch your country for each competition
To my opinion Miss Universe steals Miss World's contestants. Ok my sentence is clumsy… But contestants can be stronger other way than doing all pageants. Pageants ain't studies… Why spending years and years on different competitions by sacrificing your career

To conclude I'm glad Miss USA doesn't belong anymore to Miss Universe org. Miss U begins to be old. Often by searching the same profile. Almost 12/21 americas qualified. Miss Canada deserved to be seen. It doesn't matter just saying their national costumes were strong and defended a big cause (LGBTQ+ for Uruguay) or rewarded Myanmar more for the political message than the costume. Nothing makes sense. The Miss U org abuse of symbols to grow up the audience. As a consequence these specific ladies aren't selected. So the organisation indirectly reproduce the same issue with Angela Ponce from Spain who was trans. Sharing their stories ain't enough. It's hypocrisis.
I'm afraid it's become more and more a stupid show where you wanna see falls and failed answers. Or only a kind of woman in the finalists. Women can't emancipate and can't feel themselves on stage by being someone else. That exact illusion on social media, the other unreal part of us. I'm proud some of the contestants showed us normal situation in their stories and exonerate other girls

  10. Yesss miss Vietnamโ€™s semifinal was phenomenal! She is very kind, sweet, genuine and her advocacy is very touching. Thank you for including her! She is overlooked in many prediction boards!

  11. Well, to my mind it ain't relevant to say France is beautiful in swimsuit but not in evening gown. The same for Cameroon beautiful in evening gown but not in swimsuit in your eyes. I think it's very sexist and degrading for the women. Stereotypes like this are toxic for this kind of contest. I can understand that the dress can make a difference like Zuleyka Rivera at her edition. Next time you could change the way you say it. For instance : she has less chance to shine or win. It will be more apreciated. Then the personality of the contestant can make a difference even if the evening gown ain't appropriate or iconic. Catryona Gray could have won with any evening gown because her catwalk slayed.
Now let's wait this night because some of them don't give everything for the preliminaries or can have another evening gown.

The speech will be determining too. And I hope the translators for the foreign countries' contestants will be precise (For Iris Mittenaere it wasn't exactly what she said and with lots cuts).
For once I don't wanna see USA in the top 21. I love Asya Daniels but i don't understand her place here. Contrary to Zozibini Tunzi she doesn't take up space. Asya looks shy and discreet. She has a big potential but acts like being Miss USA is enough. Maybe behind this she ain't happy. She doesn't really discuss with her community. She's very mysterious and it could have been interesting but sounds strange. She's so normal, neutral, basic, simple… I don't know… I'd rather Cheslie Kryst who will be analyst this edition and did a great job for extra tv. Asya doesn't take advantage of her uniqueness like Deshauna Barber. Personally USA is overrepresented each year and sometimes just because it's USA (and because the USA leads the Miss U organisation?). Perhaps Asya will reveal tonight. I like that she's calm by not showing us stress but beware of looking boring. Finally you're from the US and it's clear you want her to achieve her dreams. Then there is the sisterhood and affect that don't make you objective concerning her performance. Ok it was great the similitude between the national costume and the evening gown but I don't say WOW. Her situation is like they gave her everything but she definitively doesn't want to make it to the top.

As regard the way the girls talk, I'm happy you don't judge it. But I think you've already known how some of them talk. I mean you are very supportive on social media and you like many posts of past and current contestants. I think you saw their short stories (if it's long you can skip) and heard their voice, saw their personality. It's easy without the interviews to determine which one can be ready or not. Or simply which one absolutely wants the title. Some of them have a very good communication, it's solid. Even if there is a lack of freshness. The problem is that some of them can be seen positively or negatively. Amanda Obdam of Thailand is so powerful but seems fake. Before the competition she sometimes comments publications of contestants without loving it. She abused of the interactions in order to exist. Just to have visibility. She plays a role and as a Miss Universe I won't trust her intentions in the humanitarian actions. Is she opportunist? Last year Thailand was favorite on social media and the contestant couldn't imagine to lose. I think she was really disappointed of her top 5. LoL … Amanda has the same state of mind. And I wanted to add that she tried to make a live with her roomie to debrief of the national costume's show just after it. You can read her mind like a book, she hid her bad personality but her face betrayed her.

Super video! Your top is diverse
PS: english ain't my mother language.

  12. nepal and jamaica are the real dark horse contender so far as far as others as expected to perform really well like south africa, philippines, thailand, puerto rico, venezuela
