Beauty queens representing their country in more than one international pageant over their careers isn’t such a rare thing. In facts, several winners of the major competitions – both recently and historically – have had previous experience on an international stage.

But what’s remarkable about Miss Universe 2023 is not only the multitude of contenders who’ve had high placements in other international pageants, but also a queen chasing a second “Grand Slam” crown. Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild won Miss Supranational title in 2019, and now she’s after one of the two biggest, or Alpha, titles – Miss Universe.

In this Miss Universe 2023 preview I take a look at seven of the most accomplished crossover queens – their personal pageant history and that of their countries.

  2. As a Guatemalan, I’m so rooting for Michelle Cohn! In my opinion, she has a real good chance of advancing for the crown. But as of now we don’t know. Hopefully she advances well!!🩵🤍🩵

  3. I think Mexico could have their third top 5 at Miss Universe in five years. That would be a feat for Mexico! It won’t be easy but Melissa has what it takes!

  4. I’m a pilipino but I’m rooting for miss thailand hehehe I’m not being bias but I hope Antonia in miss universe competition will level up more … but let’s cross finger ..

  5. Thank you for this video. But in the list of crossovers aiming to win another major international pageant, you forgot to include Linda Hooks, winner of Miss International 1972. After passing her miss international crown she competed in Miss United Kingdom 1974 aiming for Miss World but she failed to sneak in top 15 (which was won by Helen Morgan)

  6. I think this year's Miss Universe Pageant will be like the best of the best! I'm hoping that the judges will really look though it. It would be nice if all of them will be on top 10 but it'll be surprising if the emerged winner will come from a country that has never won. 😮

  7. Among the crossover queens this year basing on this review…

🇳🇮Nicaragua🇳🇮 has the most pleasing aura & still something fresh to offer among the others.

Her smile radiates warmth & kindness by just looking at her.

She will make a high placement for sure this year.

🇵🇭The Philippines 🇵🇭 (sorry kababayan) totally blank or flat. She need her mother’s (Ms. Melanie Marquez) a pinch of personality & energy. She got to much Alta-Maldita vibes. Need to downgrade that.

🇹🇭 Thailand🇹🇭 (sorry again) totally overrated. Nothing is fresh about her.

  8. You completely overlooked the gorgeous Lía Victoria Borrero of 🇵🇦 PANAMA 🇵🇦 Who was top 5 in Miss Universe 1997 who went on to win Miss International 1998.
