Quite possibly the best evening gown competition ever. Very classy and elegant. Virginia and Mississippi were overcome with emotion and had tears in their eyes. Wish they'd bring back the military escorts but I'm not holding my breath. Loved the 80s hair and Illinois' shoulder pads.
I hope this old concepts will be back today…very elegant and classy.
As far as this competition, it should have gone to Florida! In the 33 years since this pageant, her gown is the only one that still holds up. All of the others are extremely dated, with Texas's gown being at the top of the list.

I was hoping that when that Pig Trump sold the pageant the new owners would go back to this format….so classy with the military. Alas, it did not happen. It's still the Bimbo show Trump made it to be.

Poor, poor Mississippi. She was 2nd in prelims, 3rd in semifinal interview, 5th in semifinal swimsuit. She was a shoe-in for finals, until the evening gown competition…
