remind me about Miss Universe 1988 when Alan Thicke have annouced the name of Top 5 he called Miss Mexico first and then followed by another 4 asian girls Hong Kong, korea, Japan and Thailand.

Wonder who were the 2 contestants that the other girls didn't like. The backstage lot repeatedly said things – 3 times in fact during the show – about a couple of girls that was far from trying to be congenial throughout the pageant. They were satisfied that these haughty ones were NOT included in the top 5. They loved Minnesota winning the swimsuit because she was a pretty nice girl, and she, Miss Indiana and Miss Kansas were obviously loved by the other contestants.

The only thing I find stupid is marking down a contestant for not wearing a two piece. Jermaine Jackson admitted doing this to Miss California. She seemed to have a nice figure in the one piece from what I've seen.

Jermaine Jackson definitely influenced the voting with his bigoted, racist scoring. Connecticut scoring higher than the gorgeous Texas, Rhode Island and Kansas girls? Come on, I dunno, guess Jermaine, who probably saw Miss USA pageant in the 60s and 70s, probably figured "OK, muthas, it's payback time!" BTW, Miss DC looked like an NFL linebacker in swimsuit.

dont they usually eliminate the highest and lowest scores then round those for the equal answer? so jacksons answer would not have made a difference.

Why? because they picked 4 black finalists? how is that any different than having a final 5 with 4 white finalists and 1 black finalist?
Are you crazy, the judges did the picking and Shauntey was top 15 at Miss Universe are you kidding. That year they had a top 10, the following year the Miss Universe had a top 15 and our Miss USA 2003 was cut and did not make top 10.
This was not the worst pageant ever and the finalists were not ugly.
While Indiana's Kelly Lloyd was very deserving of her Top 5 spot, the other three black girls only made it because of Jermaine Jackson's scores. Just go back and look at the scores, he hardly ever, if ever gave a white girl a 9.00 or higher but all four black girls got 9.00 or higher (usually high 9s too), so essentially he's racist and he alone rigged it.

@JuezMaldito I met this Miss USA last night and spent time speaking w/her. I found her very attractive and smart!! Looking at this clip, I feel she was the prettiest, most poised, and great figure.
@yungkad14 i was ecstatic 4 black girls!! I said to myself " if a black girl does not win, I will never watch MISS USA again" this actually became a controversy and I was pissed. People were complaining "How come it was all black girls vs 1 white girls" I was like " ARE U #$%^& SERIOUS…I've watched Miss USA, MISS UNIVERSE, MISS TEEN USA for years and many times I seen have all white girls make top whatever NO BLACK GIRLS or 1-2 Black girls make the top whatever…MISS USA 2004 FOR EXAMPLE!!!
