I really don't know a lot about pageants, but I've spent most of my professional life as a zoo educator, where a bulk of my work was taking a concept and breaking it down to make it simple AND entertaining in a quick dose for an audience who might have absolutely zero pre-existing knowledge of the subject matter. To take that kind of demonstration and apply it to a 90-second presentation is so commendable, and I'm sure none of her competitors had an act that stood out this much. Anyone who doesn't understand the place and purpose of this type of presentation is, IMO, being willfully ignorant in a way that anyone who loves science should honestly feel ashamed for.
I would have liked to see an impassioned and enraged Camille taking the entire event hostage under threat of a fusion explosion for the Pageant's history of belittling and objectifying women.

I was counting on my fingers after you said 'just three things water(1) , oxgen(2), gas(3) and heat (4). Awesomeness how even casually you distinguished energy as #4 so as to elegantly emphasize the difference between total energy of molecular motion in a substance (4) and the substance itself (1), (2) and (3).

It's cool but it definitely doesnt seem authentic. I wish she was more precise with her words. It seems too rushed. She definitely didnt win over the cucklords. It would have been cool for her to rip off the lab coat and have some fabulous dress and concluding sentence about what science means to the future or something. That's what I would've done

I think it rocks. Miss America pageant is trying to catch up w 21st century women’s roles. As an institution it is still pretty sketch in that regard, but she certainly rocks it.

The miss America pageant is so messed up and has spiraled out of control, someone like myself has to come along and remind everyone of what this is supposed to be..
The miss America like the miss universe like the miss state and every other beauty contest out there is just that..A BEAUTY CONTEST….
Now I know that many of you out there are going to say I'm being sexist and mean and in this generation where political correctness has totally run rampant and wild, you might want to cover your ears when I say this: I DON'T GIVE A SHIT NOT ONE BIT ABOUT YOUR HURT FEELINGS…
Now getting back to the subject at hand..its so very sad over the last several or so years what's been going on with these beauty pageants especially the miss universe and miss America..
It's gone from being a beauty contest to what your politics and political views are.. if I want to know about your political views run for office or give me a text or tweet or make a video like this one..maybe I'll respond and maybe I won't; but the last place I'll ever expect to see or hear about your political views is when I watch a beauty contest like a miss America pageant..
There's a big push over the last several years to get plus size women into these miss America pageant and miss universe pageants as well as all other beauty contests in general..
Now this is not being sensitive..but I'm not tuning into a beauty pageant to see some woman not only twice my size but looking like something I would buy as an oversized appliance at a home depot or Sears.
When your out in the field playing football. It's not patty cake..its not frisbee, it's not a polite conversation. It's a rough and tough kick ass contest between two team who have to get touch downs to win and the only way for your team to win and get the most touch downs is to completely annihilate the other team!!
Now noone is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to join and play football. Same with the military.. these are ass kicking dangerous occupations. If you want to do these things, it's a free country so it's your choice. But trying to change what these things are to satisfy political correctness is a fools errand. If we go down that route, why even have a military or football as a sport?
But fortunately were not there with the military and football. It may not be what it once was, but these occupations are still ass kicking.
Now let's talk about strip clubs. If a girl works at a gentleman's club; I can promise you she's not going there to teach numerical analysis and sign language to the deaf…her ass and pussy and tits and sexy dancing is what she is doing up on that stage for 14 hours a day; and it's her job to make her your fantasy because that's more money in her gstring, pussy, bra, and every other opening she has or can invent for you, the male customer…
But noone put a gun to that strippers head and forced her to sign up as an exotic go go stripper…she knew what the job requirements are beforehand just like the football player and our brave men and women who serve in our military…
Which leads me to my final point,because I can go on forever like this, but here it is:
Noone, at least not in their same right minds who's is a healthy full blooded male with a normal libido is ever tuning in to see a beauty pageant like a miss universe or miss America to see a girl who happens to be a chemist or chemistry professor dress up and act like she's teach a college chemistry class! BULLSHIT!!!!
what she can do is do her eroctic sexy dancing in her chemistry outfit and start stripping down and then maybe when that uranium 238 and plutonium combine and explode; I'll be right there with her naked inside that mushroom cloud!!!!
It's up to us as a society to stop the politically correct from turning the beauty pageants into an academic and social platform… otherwise don't call it a beauty pageant anymore.. don't call it a miss universe or miss America…instead call it the miss America or miss universe talent variety show. Either way, it will be missed; at least by me!!!!!
