Well actuallly miss venezuela was supposed to go to miss universe but that year the morlies forced venezuela to send the winner to miss world, up to that point the winner in venezuela would go to miss universe and first runner up to to miss world . The morlies got fed up with that and threaten miss venezuela organization so they had to send the winner to miss world thinking to send her after to miss universe thats why martina wasnt very happy there she didnt care about miss world and told them that in tbe interviews she just went as forced hoping to go to miss universe after but the miss universe found out about her being first runner up in miss world and wouldnt accept her as miss venezuela universe, so she couldnt go . And in miss venezuela they had to make a quick small peagent to choose the new miss venezuela for miss universe 2000. They would choose the winner a year before so the delegate would prepare herself very well.

This is my favourite pageant interview format ever – the elegant stage and lighting, the regal seating, and focus on the contestants. And India NAILED it – one of the most charming and elegant contestants ever. Venezuela was out of this world stunning, but India proved that elegance and charm can outwit beauty at the last minute to take it all. Her evening gown is one of the most beautiful ever to grace the stage. Aside from the terrible blonde host and the absence of Czech Republic from the top 10, this was an amazing year! And coming back to it in 2018!
Miss South Africa here also competed in Miss Universe 1999 and was a Semi Finalist as well.

South Africa may have had smartly answered and India's pronunciation had been good, but I feel Venezuela's first answer about the most inspirational person in her life came straight from her heart. She answered that question really well unlike Yukta's Audrey Hepburn.
