Today we’re talking about Miss World 2021 and the supposed cancelled upcoming coronation night which was going to take place on March 16th in Puerto Rico. Recently a new article informed that Stephanie Del Valle (Miss World 2017) was being sued by the organization for holding public funds which were given by the Puerto Rico Government for the organization of Miss World 2021.
The allegations were quickly addressed by Stephanie in a statement where she said the money was returned to the government after the previous postponement of the beauty pageant.
This whole drama has affected the public image of Miss World, Stephanie del Valle and all of the involved parties. But most importantly, it has left fans wondering if we will really have a Miss World coronation night after all.
I hope you enjoy this video and all the points that were made in this conversation.

  1. Definitely agree for contingency plans A, B, C, so on. Such plans are a MUST for global – even local small events! Does MW organization have enough separate funds if it transfers crowning ceremonies in London even for virtual staging? It's easier said than done as they're dealing with another country PR which might have different laws on their contracts for such venue transfer. To top it all, this MW 2021 fiasco is one for the books — for management case studies. BTW, You look and sound GOOD when ur not shown drinking from a mug with teaspoon in it as it distracts and disrespects viewers as well as may hurt your lovely eyes! Viva Luis Portelles! God bless

  2. @LuisPortelles I definitely agree with you, I think the Miss Wold Organizations should just go ahead with it and get things going and be done with it. I think the people and the Pageants enthusiasts waited for too long already and all the candidates put in so much efforts especially this pandemic times, it so sad to see that all your hard work can be just put on hold because of all the dramas and controvercies behind Miss World Organizations, I feel for the contestants that travel half way across the countries and then wait for too long for things to get going. I am in favor of everyone's sakes because of covid pandemic, but right now, maybe Miss World Organizations can just put those legalities problems or their differences on the side and get things going, so that we as fans of this Pageant flatform can once again enjoyed this, with all the restrictions being lifted soon maybe they can do something about this already… Thank you Luis for all the updates and creating awareness of what is happening in Miss World cause I've been waiting too when is it going to happen already, we have a very strong candidate from my beloved country Philippines🇵🇭 and you know how it is very important for us Filipinos this Pageant just as any Pageant we join into to be a representative of our country and im sure the rest of the candidates from their respective countries to get things going. I wish everything goes well with all the things needed to be done, and wishing all the candidates bests stay, safe and healthy🙏❤ just love love love and positivity, godbless everyone💞💞💞

  3. MARISI MO YAN JULIA MORLEY. PINILI MONG MANALO SI STEPHANIE DEL CALLE NG 2016 INSTEAD KAY CATRIONA. KARMA MO YAN NGAYON ANG REPUTACION NG MISS WORLD BUMABA DAHIL SA SCANDAL NA YAN!

  4. For all the people that bitch about MGI and called it a cooking show, remember MGI never got sued and got itself in this kind of drama. I remember you were so bitching when Philippines did not get in to the top 20 of MGI….what are you gonna say now about MW? which one is a cooking show now…..?

The level of all the fans that are so favor MW, MU, choose to overlook all of their dramas, and bashing MGI just show how stupid and hypocrite people are. just saying

  5. You talk as if you were very credible but infact you lack credibility or none of it.. Your channel is geared towards pleasing your viewers from a certain country because they are the one who put food on your table everyday.

  6. My people, seek the Most High God while you have your beings….we'll are eternal spirits living in temporary bodies so when we die our spirits live on either in hell's or heaven 's paradise!

  7. You know Luis, that is the mark of a true professional Vlogger, or media commenter or analyst, to re-update what has been done despite the expense, time, and wasted effort, just to uphold reliability, media integrity, and CREDIBILITY. To me, I would also do the same. I'd rather sacrifice my expenses, time, and additional effort for the sake of upholding my reputation and being able to face people with head high.

  8. I'm not surprised that MWO has imploded. This has long been a dubious contest with questionable winners and stories of it being rigged. Stephanie is one of those unworthy winners. Now this. At some point, someone's gotta face the music

  9. I really feel these things which is happening in between again and again and postponing competition could be affect the performances and focus of all delegates ….hope all the delegates could able to focus in this situation and make their respective country proud 💯

  10. Agree. Ms World selection is already being dragged for a long time. Its beconing tiresome for the pageant fans to follow. They should have made the selection process a simpler one. Ms Universe made a very concise selection process and they have successfully staged and selected a new Ms Universe. In Filipino its called "nakakapagod nakakasawa na sundan."

  11. I agree Luis. They should have not cancelled the whole coronation night. They could have just moved on and crown the new queen in the safest and simplest way. By now, the new queen could have done good things for the Org already.

  12. Miss world is a boring pageant. It is unknown in the u.s. and even in its origin country uk, the brits dont give a sh1t about this pageant hence its not even broadcasted in their local tv channels live.
    Miss world=miss snoozefest😴

  13. Miss world always filled with controversies since in the 50s! Pope against the competition bcs they said its downgrade women as sex symbol, the 1970 well known feminism protest, 2002 nigeria safety concern where julia brought the contestants to london from nigeria, 2013 indonesia rally protest, and now this covid pandemic situation. Nonetheless the allegation for corruptions, china propaganda and predetermined winners bcs of connection or business wise. I really hope julia will do something for this organization and bring back the glamz to the final night.

  14. Miss World is a JOKE. Top 40 and challenges? It dragged on needlessly and exposing the contestants unnecessarily. This is a pageant or a reality show ? I think MW is not only boring af but ridiculous. It should just be cancelled .

  15. I don't think Stephanie del Valle would be let off the hook if she had entered into a contractual arrangement with a third party – namely Puerto Rico with a Purpose L3C that's suing her – after she and her Reignite Puerto Rico Inc. (her father Jesús Manuel del Valle Padilla serves as treasurer and consultant) realized that they took on the project of holding the Miss World 2021 contest from the government of Puerto Rico and the Municipality of Rio Grande and couldn't possibly deliver to fruition due to lack of seed money (initial funding), staff and experience. They have caused the subcontractor Puerto Rico with a Purpose L3C to come to their rescue and defrayed the expenses for MW 2021 month-long activities in Dec. 2021 or up until the contest was postponed to March this year. Bouncing the 3 checks given to the subcontractor as payment for their involvement in the project initiated by Ms. del Valle & company seems to me as an egregious act in bad faith as well as a breach of contract – which is what the FRAUD or "estafa" in Spanish is referring to in the court filing. Reignite Puerto Rico, Stephanie del Valle? You've just ignited a legal bomb! I hope you'll emerge from it unscathed.

  16. Miss Universe still is the best pageant, not boring and organized. Miss World should minimize pre-finals activities and go straight to preliminary or Finals to not compromise their organization and the candidates as well.

  17. Thanks for enlightened on what is really goin on with this MissWorld pageant, coz honestly it took hard for me to understand the said report coz it's written in Spanish, at least it's clear coz of your explanation Luis. Anyway, I agree with you that the organization should crown the new queen

  18. There were a few plot holes in the summary. The Puerto Rican government provided the funds with the intention of promoting PR's tourism. Reignite (Stephanie's nonprofit organization) focuses on tourism in the Puerto Rican archipelago that's why they were entrusted the funds. The third-party, Puerto Rico with a Purpose (PRwaP), was brought in because Reignite didn't have the staff capacity to organize the entirety of the event. It makes sense. The money was always available. There's no problem with funding the events, the problem was the staff capacity to ensure the logistics of a month-long pageant and its multitude of events. The problem is that when the postponement of the finale happened, they (PRwaP) still wanted to get paid. But, the service was not completed, because the final night of the pageant was postponed… they cannot get paid for something they have not completed yet. Consequently, Reignite and Stephanie froze the funds to protect it. The reason is that the money was meant for the Miss World events… and it was meant to be used exclusively for that. Reignite and Stephanie in their counter statement indicated that PRwaP breached the contract by organizing unplanned events and taking actions without first consulting with them (at the end of the day, Reignite and Stephanie were spearheading the MW-related events in the island, they needed to be consulted prior to any decision), it is believed that the COVID outbreak was the result of those events (a pool party, a gallery visit and other events) that took place without Reignite's and Stephanie's acknowledgement and established protocols. Reignite and Stephanie were on charge of organizing the first events and they went by without any problems or ill outcomes. Halfway through, the agenda of events was passed to PRwaP and that's when the mess started happening. Seeing that they (PRwaP) is trying to put their hands on the money (as exemplified by the lawsuit and all this unnecessary drama), Stephanie and Reignite decided to give back the funds to the Puerto Rican government. In short, the funds are safe. All the accusations are without merit and logic, because the funds are still there and now under the power of the government. PRwaP will get paid when Miss World is completed, as denoted in the contract.

PRwaP is not even Puerto Rican (which makes its name super weird), its a subsidiary of Percival Services which is associated with Miss World organization. It was registered in November 5. They were the ones that cancelled the final night without consulting with Reignite and Stephanie. That's why it was last minute the cancellation. That's why half of the final night was recorded, without prior notice, during the rehearsal. Leading contestants and even Stephanie to improvise because it completely took them by surprise. It also explains why only the Top 40 was invited back since the first stages of the final night has been recorded.

This is really sad, because Stephanie did not do anything wrong. Stephanie was just protecting the funds that were public funds. For me, it comes across as an ill-intentioned lawsuit that unfortunately has resulted in the tainting and putting down of a person that has been doing so much to bring Miss World to Latin America for the first time ever. A person that clearly lives by and adores the purpose of Miss World. Thankfully, Stephanie is a brilliant person and has been able to weather all the drama with maturity and professionalism. But, this really hurts her and Puerto Rico… because this should have been a celebration and it has become a rollercoaster of emotions.
