A video the crown being snatched away from Pushpika De Silva, the winner of Mrs Sri Lanka beauty pageant, went viral on social media recently. Pushpika was crowned Mrs Sri Lanka on Sunday. Soon after she won the title, the reigning Mrs World and 2019 Mrs Sri Lanka, Caroline Jurie, snatched the crown from Pushpika and awarded it to the first runner-up. According to Caroline, Pushpika was disqualified since she is a divorcee and only married women can hold the title of Mrs Sri Lanka. The video has gone viral with over 12 lakh views so far. Later, Pushpika clarified in a lengthy Facebook post that she is not a divorcee. After which, the crown was returned to Pushpika on Tuesday.

  1. I am very sorry about this ugly event, because It's been cheated by the Pushpeeka wrong information. The 1st rule of this event is – Competitors must be married for at least 6 months by July 1 and must be living with their spouse. It includes a "separate or divorced situation. "But Pushpeeka has been lived separately without her husband for more than 04 years." She should be rejected in the international Mrs. queen event in this year. Pushpeeka knew she did not qualify for this queen event. She cheated the other competitors and the people in Sri Lanka. It is also legally wrong for Pushpeeka to participate in this competition. This issue was raised by the tribunal that crowned Pushpeeka. Such decisions are not uncommon in a country where everything is biased. This match means getting married and living with a married husband. 2nd rule is – Applicants are required to have no previous legal troubles or criminal record. Pushpeeka has a case in court. She had filed her divorce case more than 02 years early. Caroline's action is very ugly. But Her decision is very brave and justified. Giving this crown to Pushpeeka is something that was prepared in advance. Is this another opportunity for the country? In fact, this was an injustice to the contestants who were married to their husbands. The intelligentsia of the country should shout for them, but our intelligentsia is now shouting for a woman who has won the crown by fraud. Whoever wanted to give this crown to Pushpeeka, -and in the future. You must read and follow the rules to participate in the international program. To qualify as a competitor: Pushpeeka de Silva has should be rejected by under these terms and conditions. Carolina tried to serve the reputation of Sri Lanka. but some of our stupid people could not understand the truth. Sri Lanka judgment board has included only present politicians and their friends.

  2. Well not many know about the true incident, As usual beauty pageants involve politics & nepotism. Same happened on that day & the only fault was the way Mrs .world dealt with it.
Anyway she said she's ready to give away her Mrs World crown & what's important to her is the truth she stands for not a crown that anyway has to be given away to somebody .
