After going back and forth on it for a while, I’ve finally decided to share my Miss America interview in its entirety. The purpose of sharing this tape is educational; I remember watching bootleg tapes of state and national interviews while preparing for Miss Utah, which was immensely helpful in learning how “play the game” and succeed at pageantry. It costs money to watch all of the Miss America interviews from my year, so (in the spirit of not gatekeeping) I’m sharing my whole interview so that you can see firsthand what it’s actually like interviewing for the job of Miss America.
Although it feels vulnerable and scary sharing this, I’m hoping you can learn from my mistakes!
