I agree with most of what you are saying except your analysis of left and right. Right wingers don't support women's rights, for a start. Roe v Wade? And all of the people I know standing against gender identity ideology are left wing. The right wingers don't tend to have any critique of gender they just think men are men and women are women and ne'er the twain shall meet. Many of the right opposition are also intensely homophobic. The proponents of this awful ideology aren't left or right. it has gone beyond that. They are authoritarian queer theory, postmodernist narcissists. And their enablers. The 'identify' as left wing, which is about as believable and authentic as those men who 'identify' as women.
I'm reminded that we should be compassionate, but we need to address things separately and directly. For example, physical beauty is only one aspect of a person, and probably not the most important, and, while we shouldn't be cruel to obese people, it's usually a product of food addiction and unhealthy. What makes me sick is the people supporting this don't care about any of these issues. It's mostly virtue signaling and political maneuvering, as you mention. In all fairness, though, there are real issues behind these bizarre occurrences the right is not addressing either, like the fact that people are superficial and do judge people on superficial qualities, but it's rather interesting Hollywood is simultaneously parading half naked women around for all the world to see. I know this was all over the place. Sorry.
