Title: Warning
Review: I have used this product for years and never had a problem. Not sure what they have done to the gloves but Both arms are swollen and rashed. I am allergic to latex and wondering if that is now being used to produce them

Title: Perfect for brunette to ginger!
Review: I have a naturally medium brown that leans auburn in the sunlight, but I like to intensify the red. Before COVID, I would get my hair lightened and colored in the salon, because every at-home dye kit consult I had told me you can’t really lighten hair with kits, just add color. Darn. Wanting to DIY and needing easy, I’ve been using Overtone and have been thrilled with the results, but now that it’s been so long since the salon, my salon-lightened ends have grown out and the red looks less noticeable. Being an absolute beginner and too scared to bleach all over, I thought this highlighting kit might be a good way to dip my toes into hair lightening. I did a lot of research, watched Youtube tutorials to avoid frying it off , and decided on this kit to use for my first attempt. The first picture is my before color. I first did a strand test (second picture) and this is after about 40 minutes of processing time. I was pleased with the amount of lightening, so I decided to keep going. The kit comes with a plastic cap with printed holes on it. You can either use every hole for an all-over look, or every other one for a more scattered look. I decided on every other. There is a little hook included that you use to pull strands out through the cap, so that the hair underneath doesn’t get lightened. Well, this is where I ran into trouble. My hair is REALLY fine, and I just could not get ANY hair hooked on that darn thing. I tried for probably half an hour until my husband took pity and said he’d give it a shot. Somehow he was better at it (maybe the angle is easier to get if you’re not looking in a mirror? Or he used more pressure? Not sure), so I let him help me pull strands through all the circles. I might need to use tweezers or something next time. You may not have this issue though, if your hair isn’t insanely fine and slippery. I recommend using a comb to lightly brush against the cap after and make sure you don’t have any tangles or loops that didn’t quite make it through.I used a combination of my gloved fingers and a hair paintbrush (don’t know what they’re really called) to coat the strands with the mixed solution. It went on pretty easily. Then I set a timer and put the included plastic cover over the top. I checked it every 10 minutes, and when it looked like it had processed to where I liked it, rinsed it out. I also did the shampoo and conditioner included, which helped make my hair feel a lot softer.Overall, I really like how it turned out! My hair actually looks ginger just from this kit alone. It looks very natural; my sister who is a natural redhead looks like this in the summer. I’ll still probably add the Overtone Copper Kit to help blend it into the exact shade I like though. I’ll come back and post the results of that after I do it. If you are going for more true blonde strands, you’ll probably need to leave it on longer (a few strands on my bangs processed to yellow) or possibly do a second bleaching. A toner might make it less orange leaning. But this definitely gives a nice lightening effect on brown, and for someone who wanted to go to the coppery side anyway, it’s perfect!

Title: Best highlight kit
Review: I’ve used many highlight kits and this produced the most natural looking results. Blended seamlessly with old highlights not done with this kit and blends in grey and dark roots. No brassy tones that require days of purple shampoo. I left it on about 30 mins. I never use the caps. This is also the least expensive.

Title: Girl, buy it!
Review: The cap is good quality.Incredibly long and honestly painful process. I have thick hair that tangles easy. The results however are perfect. Exactly what I would get in the salon. I’ve never found a box product that works. Love.

Title: Really Like the Formula for Oily Hair
Review: My hair goes oily mid day normally. The texture of this one creates helps rough out my hair a little bit more and gives more volume as a result. The paste you get after mixing the solutions is like gelée in a pleasant shade of baby blue. Really interesting product. Worth trying. I am getting another one in a couple of months:)

Title: Have been using for years
Review: I have been using this kit for years. I use to have long blonde hair and would use this kit to get the perfect blonde highlights. I recently tried it on my now dark brown hair and ended up with carmel/red highlights which looked ok but was not for me but I figured that might be the case with my now dark hair. So I would recommend for light colored hair but not for dark.

Title: Worked on my black box dye hair
Review: SUPER HELPFUL INFO!! PLEASE READ! I was super impressed with this bleach kit on my black hair. I chose To do a few highlights beginning from the scalp of my head. I used foil to cover my bleached hair strands. I also brushed a thin coat of bleach on the foil to make sure the bleach saturated the top and back of my hair strands. This makes it so that the bleach on the hair does not dry and you get maximum lift from the bleach. I wish I bought a hair gloss or semi permanent hair dye that did not require mixing as the final step to tone my hair. Instead I used wella 8nw hair color to tone the brass. Super good but wella products are very potent smelling of strong chemicals. FYI I did use garnier 1B1 prior to the revlon frost kit to see if it would lighten my hair a bit. No. It didn’t. It just lightened the hair at the top of my head ( gave hot roots) but even then it wasn’t super brassy. Like if this review helped!! Also this is a bleach kit, that comes with a bleach powder packet and developer. This is not a hair color dye. You have to add toner or hair color after using this kit. Good luck. I would get this kit again.****UPDATE***: I added a pic of the top of my hair after using about 4 bleach kits total and dyeing my hair over the bleach. It took this many kits because I started with black hair. This is the result after 3 months of lightening my hair. I only used the bleach hair cap once, then i freehanded my highlights with a brush and foil. This is in indoor lighting. It looks copper red but I’m in natural lighting it looks more honey/ strawberry blonde after using wella hair color.

Review: Did lots of research but bought this with some degree of trepidation as I’ve had disastrous results in the past with yellow/orange hair and didn’t want to repeat it. However, after spending an arm and both legs at the hairdressers recently and still not getting what I wanted, I decided to give this a shot.I’ve been every colour of blonde, brown and dark brown over the last couple of years and really wanted to be blonde again. Most recent was a light brown with too much warmth and a few barely perceptible highlights for which the hairdresser robbed me.Be warned though – pulling the hair through takes FOREVER and I got my husband to do it for me. DEFINITELY do a strand test or you won’t know how long to leave the bleach on. I checked mine every 10 mins and then washed and dried the strand so I could be sure I wasn’t getting Ronald McDonald hair. Don’t be afraid to leave it on for an hour if you have to – my hair is still in good condition. I probably did too many highlights for the look I was actually after – we pulled through every circled hole – but I have to admit it looks really good and I am more than pleasantly surprised. My hair is a lovely shade of lightish blonde with NO orange/yellow whatsoever. Every home blonde colour I have every used has given me too yellow hair – I really recommend this. No idea what I’ll do with the regrowth but this has certainly save me a lot of money even if it’s only on this one time I didn’t have to pay a salon.

Review: I have never successfully managed to colour my hair at home, let alone highlight it. Bought this after reading loads of great reviews on the internet, definitely lives up to expectations. It’s definitely not easy peasy to highlight your hair yourself and it’s very time consuming, but I think is probably about the best kit and dye you can buy for it.This kit comes with a really good cap that has clear markings which help if you just want to highlight say the crown of your hair. It also has circled and uncircled holes so you can choose to do more or less highlights.Took me about an hour to pull all my hair through, but then it was super quick to slap the dye on. Was really impressed at how well it lifted as my natural colour is very warm. Lifted to a lovely blonde, no yellow/orange and my hair does not feel dry or damaged.Loved the fact it is Ammonia free and that the kit has a shampoo and conditioner, they don’t give you much but the conditioner is really nice. Definitely do a strand test so you know how long to leave the dye on. Top tip – when you rinse the bleach off (with the cap still on), put some conditioner on the strands and then the cap will just slide off so you can wash the rest of your hair, this avoids knots and snags . It’s a shame you can’t buy this in the uk, but great that cosmetic solutions sell it on here. They shipped it pretty quick too thanks.
